RE: Game Week: @ 'Cuse and Marygrove
EMU is going to have to examine how to schedule quality opponents in upcoming seasons: 1) We develop bad habits playing D3 competition that hurt us against D1 schools, 2) No fans can get excited about the game so they will not attend (including loyalists like me) and 3) no fans equals a poor atmosphere which in turn hurts the image of the program. During our MAC championship years, I only remember playing one maybe two lesser opponents not four and I certainly don't remember us playing D3.
To fix the schedule, we need money. I suggest we start scheduling D1 opponents away to earn money that will allow us to schedule a mid major at home. We should go play Iowa, Purdue, Minnesota, Butler, Creighton, etc so that we can play Oakland, UofD, Cleveland St, Chicago St, North Dakota, etc at home. Kampe played a lot of away games several years ago to build up his program and now has a more reasonable home schedule.
One thing for sure, Murphy could do himself a favor if he could be more competitive on the road. Excluding UofM, no away signature wins from my perspective.
Lyke and Murphy need to fix the schedule

I think this problem should be addressed at the conference commissioner level. I see no reason why midmajors can not do more home and home exchanges as an even swap. No money involved. They're are oodles of non-MAC midmajors in the Midwest. The various conferences need to band together and do crossovers.

JT4 and Ty said out for precautionary reasons today. Both should be fine for Long Beach State.

Was a slow start, but by the end of the 1st half we had the outcome we expected. Lee and Mangum both with 20+, Quaran Jones with a nice double double, and Bond filled up the stat sheet as normal.

I believe a game against a foe like Marygrove this late in the season hurts EMU.....I saw no benefit to play this game.
