That's a great article right there. I was scratching my head, thinking "Who is this "Collin Brooks" guy?", 'cause it's pretty obvious that's Trey's writing, and Trey's contacts. So why the pseudonym? So when I finished reading the article, I go back up and see it's also got Trey's byline. So.....what's the deal? Clearly it's Trey's writing, or at least 90%. Anybody know if this Collin Brooks is a real person, and why, if he is, is he sharing a byline on this story?

In any event, good find, brock20. And another job well done, Trey.

Collin and Trey have collaborated on some projects.
That was more of a guest columnist I think. Collins now does
the sports for the News and Neighbor, it his column but it actually lists
Trey are the person who wrote that piece.

According to Kenpom. UT is currently ranked #81 and ETSU is ranked #82. This will be a battle.

Hmmm...... Well, Trey has been writing columns for them, too. Just think it's very curious to have two bylines like that.
And thanks, brock20.

Looking at the site all of Trey's stories have the double byline.
Last couple have said Collin at top, before that it said NN assistant.
Collin just moved from the Herald Tribune in Jonesborough.
It is small publication, probably a formatting issue.

It actually appears that they are using a blogging software as the format for their articles. The first "author" looks like it is the person who published the article on the site, while the 2nd byline is the actual author. They would have to create a user account and post as that account for the software to not have the 2 bylines. The actual paper copy of the article has Trey Williams as the only byline.

I bet that is it, I was thinking it might be a software/hosting site issue.
They aren't a big operation so I doubt they spend a lot on the website, Blogging software makes sense.

I've supported both my entire life and I can say unequivocally that the UT message boards/Vol Twitter are some of the dumbest human beings in the history of the Earth. They're morons. Comparing a high school gym to a place that holds 6,000 people.
Most SEC arenas seat under or around 10,000 people. I hope ETSU wins this one.

Thats true. Although the 2 newest arenas, Miss and Auburn, are the 2 smallest at a little over 9k. I guess they got tired of playing in empty gyms.

Yea, with so many ESPN games now on the screen from around the country, unless my eyes are lying, there are a number of empty seats at a number of these power 5 places. Perhaps airing so many of these games on the screen helps explain that. UT, for example, sure ain't filling their big ol place these days thus creating an image situation. A smaller place packed and rocking sure is a much better atmosphere in my humble opinion.

Hey - I know some of those people. And you're right! (Well, I haven't looked at their message board(s), but I think one can draw conclusions from 'real life'.) I also know there *are* intelligent UT fans - they just seem to be in the distinct minority.

RE: Official Game Thread: Tennessee
Watching the TSU and Duke game the other night, the announcers mentioned it was like the 300th and something sell out (I maybe wrong on that stat, but they were impressed with it.) I'm used to watching UK play and regularly sell out, or at least nearly so, their 23,000 seat Rupp Arena, so I was curious how many Duke was selling out. Turns out Cameron Indoor Stadium only seats 9314. So I'm much less impressed with their sell out stat now. If one of the best teams in men's NCAA basketball couldn't sell out less than 10,000 seats, then the rest of the schools are doomed with regard to game attendance.

A lot of Big Ten schools sell out their Big Ten games besides the non-power schools (Rutgers/Penn State)

I like to think I am one. I'm not in the "Hire George Quarles as head coach" club that some of those morons seem to be in. Reminiscent of the George Pitts crowd here.
And SEC basketball attendance is pitiful. Opening night at Vanderbilt, playing Belmont, who's literally across the street from them, new coach, ton of hype around all that and a little inter city rivalry, maybe 2500 people at Memorial. Maybe. They can hold as much as they want, but if nobody goes to games that doesn't matter. I'd 100 times rather have a jam packed Cameron Indoor Center vs. a half full Thompson Boling Arena.

Haven't checked other Big Ten teams, but Ohio State rarely sells out home basketball games. The Schottenstein Center seats 18,809. Average attendance last year was 12,284. http://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-state...since-1998 That's with a total enrollment of 59,000 plus, including grad students.
