Standout players sharing jersey numbers
What are your thoughts on this? Lynch & Bass shared #6, and for the past 2 years Golladay & Lurry share #19. It's one thing when one player rides the bench, but in both these cases the players got ample playing time. Doesn't bother me as much as make me wonder why one player didn't just pick another number...

Who cares? Whatever makes the players happy.

Standout players sharing jersey numbers
Makes it a bit of a challenge during the player jersey auctions.

Why such a snarky response? Was interesting observation. That is what can be wrong with these boards. Do people talk to their friends and coworkers like this now?

To be fair I'd be surprised if certain posters have friends in real life.

That's snarky and funny at the same time. Well done!

I agree, pride. I didn't find it funny at all. Certainly non-contributory to any furtherance of discussion. Rather such cheap shots deter intelligent decent posters from posting or even checking on the site as regularly.

I'm with you - it's weird. As a good player, I wouldn't want to share my number with any teammate, let alone another good one.

Athletes can be stuporticious. Their numbers are often connected to what they wore in peewee football or junior high or high school or what their daddy or favorite athlete wore. The thinking might just be this number is available and I like it so I'll take it.

It's most confusing for the announcers!

It shouldn't be if they do their homework but too many of those folks just wing it and are stealing money. They should be well aware of the rules that allow it and should know stars like lurry and Kenny and what numbers they have

RE: Standout players sharing jersey numbers
Normally it isn't confusing since the players play on opposite sides of the ball, so it doesn't bother me at all. It does cause some confusion if they play on special teams though.

Not just on forums like this - but on facebook in public groups too. It's a sad staste of humanity - or maybe better description would be LACK of humanity. No one looks up from their phones anymore so they don't know how to be human with each other.

Regarding the duplicate numbers - I'd bet it has more to do with a player wanting to play as a number they've had for a long time. I doubt it bothers them another team mate wears it too. Maybe it bonds them even more.
