The only way we can have a good football team is if our basketball sucks really bad.

I hope we can get it together and fast! I just hate to be that team that sucks balls until the end of the season then come on strong.... it would suck for the WKU fans and unfair to CUSA.

Is there a reason to be optimistic that WKU will "come on strong" at the end of the season?

None whatsoever. There are actually some talented offensive players on the team. They play ZERO defense. ZERO. And it doesn't seem to bother the head coach. Some of us knew he was known as a good recruiter and a marginal bench coach. This year needs more than a marginal bench coach and it's just not there. We've actually appeared to regress rather than improve.

We were picked 3rd in the preseason poll. So people know we have some talent on this team. Unfortunately, as Beed pointed out, we refuse to play any defense.

We have a coach with an ego problem that runs players off faster than he can recruit them. He is losing or has lost most fan support and it still seems like he is safe in his job. Sad situation but should be easy wins for the rest of the conference.

Floyd ran off our best interior player. He also ran off two of our better players from last year. He now blames it all on players transferring and that he had no idea of the bad luck he would face. We have two legitimate division 1 players on our roster with any experience. We have 2 more legit D1 players but they are both freshmen. The rest of the roster is filled with bench players or D2 players. The problem is that those guys have to play major minutes now. The fans are getting very restless. Our AD might think it is so but I sit in an area of fans that have been season ticket holders for 20-30 years and many of us are considering not renewing our tickets next year if Floyd is still the coach. Tim Floyd has destroy UTEP basketball. I told people that this team would not win 10 games and nobody believed me.

Honestly. I think we're close. A lot of squads have a lot of new pieces but some good looking recruits coming in. Just need everyone, or maybe just 1 or 2? MUTS & Rice? to get it together OOC and maintain through conf play.
