MAC bball strength of schedule

Check out the links above showing where the MAC stands in RPI compared to other conferences for both men and women. The women are about where they usually are. The men are way down. In both cases, though, check out the MAC's very weak strength of schedule. Why are other conferences able to play challenging schedules, and MAC teams aren't? Is it because other conferences don't stress getting home games?
