Game 9 - Radford 2 PM Saturday 12/17
We've now averaged 100 ppg in our last 4. Getting spoiled by this offense!

For the life of me, I can't figure out why Bryan plays more than Chuck. Chuck is a better shot blocker and run the floor far better. He had a nice backboard jumper, and a nice follow up slam.

Sorry, Bryan has just looked really bad this year and I don't see how Ogbodo could do any worse.

Radford had 22 turnovers. 13 of those were steals.

I have to agree. I like Bryan and his attitude but not having Chuck play will hurt us down the road come tournament time. I'd would go right at Cacock every possession he's in there if I were the opposing coach. Chuck will at least swat the shot even if he fouls. He also stands a chance to score some garbage buckets under the basket. I just don't see why he's not at least getting minutes with our post depth. But we're sitting with a great record so I can't question Keatts too much.

My instinct is that Coach Keatts has a problem with Chuck. He's made lots of statements like "Chuck has never really been in good shape" (or words to that effect), for instance. Like last season when he benched GJ Gettys until Gettys did what he wanted, he seems to more or less be doing the same thing with Chuck.

Marcus does generally play good post D with his body. We need everybody.

I agree Bryan has good post D. He is a good team player. Not sure how anyone can say Elmore needs work when he has only played about 15 minutes this season. Twice he has come off the bench and scored. I think the more minutes he see's, the more production we will see from him. Fornes is good too. He needs to see more minutes as well. Keatts may wait a little too long to put these guys in. I really think they will be putting up big numbers next year if they get quality minutes this year.

If you recall, Cacok didn't get much PT until late in the season last year. Unless a Freshman is exceptional, Keatts will play his more experienced players. He did say in his interview that he put the players in who were showing him more in practice. If you look at the minutes, Bryan didn't get much more time than Ogbodo and Elmore.

Also, in this four guard offense, there is no doubt Cacok is the ideal five. Everyone else is second fiddle, especially with Flemmings almost exclusively playing the four.

http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketb...=400916736 is the Associated Press recap, and the first sentence spelled two of your players' names wrong:

"Chris Clemmings scored 17 points, Devontae Cacoc added 15 points and nine rebounds"

The article spelled "Cacok" correctly later on.

Elmore is there offensively. He has work to do in the defensive and rebounding side. He especially needs work in his footwork. That's why he doesn't see anymore playing time yet. But I believe he will get there.

Elmore has a long ways to go defensively is what I am told and you are what you guard at the college level. Can't guard -can't play. He killed it in HS but played at a very small school and was always the biggest player on the court. He can shoot the ball but not sure what else he could contribute to this team.

Elmore is a four at the college level, not a five. Especially on this team that requires the five play in the post and rebound as our only big man. It means he is fighting for PT with Flemmings, who usually plays almost the entire game. Not happening.

When Flemmings leaves next year he could be a force at the four. 6'8", 225 lbs. and he can run the court and score from anywhere. We could pair him up with Cacok at the five and go REAL big if needed. Not a single player coming in next year is under 6'5", we're going to be huge.

Imagine this next year.

Elmore - 6'8" 225 lbs So
Cole - 6'8" 200 lbs. Fr
Cacok - 6'7", 240 lbs. Jr.
Bryan - 6'7" 240 lbs Sr,
Cuthbertson - 6'7" 175 lbs Jr.
Boutte - 6'6" 205 lbs Jr.
Bryce - 6'5" 195 lbs Jr
Whitley - 6'5" 185 lbs Fr.
Hughes - 6'5" 180 lbs Fr.
Fornes - 6'3" 195 lbs. So.
Taylor - 6'1" 165 lbs So.
Richmond - 6'0" 180 lbs. Jr.
Talley - 6'0" 185 lbs. Sr.

The height and athleticism we will bring to our press and fast break is going to be ridiculous. And with two Sophomores in Bryce and Cacok starting, and Sophomore Jaquel Richmond playing significant minutes along with Junior Jordan Talley, we will still have a lot of experience remaining. Ingram and Flemmings will be hard to replace, but with so much talent coming in next year, who knows what we will have.

He has to be able to guard somebody and then he can see some time. He is not a fast or quick player for a D1 athlete but he does have some skills which may out weigh that. Not sure where you are seeing him as a athletic big because I never saw it even in high school. He is more of a stretch four who has to make shots to stay in the game. Maybe if they play some zone they could hide him.

He has ups for sure though and skills, but has to continue to work on lateral movement and knowing how to play half court man including help and being where he needs to be to board effectively...like many at his size.
