Bodycam video shows car theft suspect shooting two cops with a hidden gun
after being asked repeatedly to take his hands out his pockets.
You police haters here, this is why police have every right to protect themselves when they repeatedly ask a suspect to show his hands. This thug shot the two police.
Quote:-Khari Gordon, 22, shot Captain Michael Schulman and Officer Jeffrey Martin
-The Lavonia Police officers stopped him on suspicion of stealing a car
-Bodycam video shows Schulman asking him to take hands out of pockets
-He shot the father-of-two under his armpit before turning gun on Martin
-Martin, also 22, suffered a gunshot wound to his right hand in the incident
-Gordon fled on foot and was arrested in woodland several hours later
Shocking footage has revealed the moment a black suspect shot two white police officers in a parking lot after being asked repeatedly by one to take his hands out of his pockets.
Khari Gordon, 22, was arrested on Monday night after shooting Captain Michael Schulman and Jeffrey Martin.
The police officers approached him after pulling him over on suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle.
In bodycam footage of their exchange, Captain Schulman is heard asking the young man repeatedly to take his hands out of his pockets
Seconds later, Gordon is heard firing his gun at the 50-year-old who fell to the ground screaming.
He went on to shoot Officer Martin, 22, before fleeing the scene on foot. The footage was released by police on Wednesday.
Captain Schulman, 50, was shot in the armpit and officer Martin was shot in the hand. Both were taken to hospital.
Captain Schulman, who is a father-of-two, remains in intensive care unit with a punctured lung. Officer Martin was discharged from hospital but must undergo specialist surgery to remove a bullet from his hand.
He is an army veteran who joined the force less than one year ago.
There was no update on Captain Schulman's condition on Wednesday morning.
The pair had pulled Gordon over at Zaxby's restaurant on Monday at around 8pm after identifying the car he was driving as stolen.
After shooting the police men, Gordon fled on foot and hid for several hours in woodlands before being caught.
He has been denied bail and faces two counts of felony intent of murder, two counts of aggravated assault on an officer and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
Lavonia Police Chief Bruce Carlisle called for an end to police shootings on Monday as he gave details of the incident.
'Yesterday was a terrible day for law enforcement in the state of Georgia. Four officers were shot.
'This has to end. I don't know what the answer is but it has to end somewhere,' he told Fox News.
The duo are just two of six Georgia police officers to have been shot in the line of duty in recent weeks.

How did this happen? We've been repeatedly told both in the press and on here by the cop haters that a black man being stopped by police is a death sentence.

The posters here that constantly attack the police won't show up in this thread unless me posting this gets them here.

Glad there was a body cam to catch this. Body cams are good for both the cops and the public at large. As for the situation itself obviously it's terrible, and like all situations you have to judge them all on their own merits and not broadly paint a picture based on your own world view.

I consider myself a liberal. I think a police officer has the right to defend himself. What happened to these officers was terrible, and my thoughts and prayers are with them and their families.
With that being said, I'd like you to back up the disgusting assertion that some of the liberals on this board hope to see dead cops. Since you guys implied there were multiple posters that think this, you should have no problem producing quotes that back it up. Don't come back with any "you can just tell" bull****.
I'd also like to note that coming from a family of officers, I find it disturbing that any time an officer is shot, you run and immediately try to use it to make some kind of political/personal attack. You could simply post the story and offer prayers for the officer's family, but you choose to go to the extreme. To me, some of you really aren't that much different than the Black Live Matter folks that you openly chastise.
*** Preemptive stuff:
I do not support BLM. I think that it's an incredibly disorganized movement and counterproductive.
When I reference BLM in the final comment, it refers to the rhetoric and not the violence.

I can understand why you feel the way you do having officers in your family. Unfortunately some of the liberals here don't share that perspective. My brother is a former police officer and sheriff. When I read the bullsh#t of how police are portrayed as they were in Fergerson and then later to be proven innocent, with some here taking the criminals side and still claiming they are still guilty, it p#sses me off.
As for BLM, they are nothing more than a terrorist group. As I have maintained for a long time here, when BLM shows up in South Chicago to help stop the shooting and killings of blacks, I will listen to what they have to say. By the way Kanye West met with Trump today and one of the topics they discussed was what can be done to stop the shootings in Chicago.
