Unless we get multiple bids like getting Fox in the bids, we are going to just get a small increase.

I think it also says the Pac-12 and Big XII are OVERpaid, but yes, the American is underpaid by a big margin (IMO).

PAC12 and Big 12 vastly overpaid. In 2 years we may have P4 numbers.

Numbers don't lie. You can't argue that. We should be making 2/3 what the Big12 and/or PAC-12 make. Here are the facts on the # of eyeballs on our games.

Crap we have as many viewers as the MWC, MAC and SBC combined.

Poor CUSA. They should be paying people to please watch their games.

RE: 2016 AAC Football TV Numbers
These numbers strongly indicate expansion is not needed to increase TV revenue, especially westward where TV eyes are non-existant (i.e. - Boise St.). The lone exception might be Air Force.

My best guess is Army and Air Force are the only schools who could remotely increase viewership enough that would make a difference. I don't see BYU as an option, they seem dead set on PAC or Big 12 or Independence.

RE: 2016 AAC Football TV Numbers
The numbers Cougar Red posted in the other thread tend to indicate that the AAC significantly trails the P5. However, the numbers in this thread indicate that the AAC really might be the sixth power conference. The true drop off in FBS viewership occurs between the AAC and the rest of the G5.

These numbers say to me ESPN won't be able to get away with lowballing us again. There's too many eyeballs focused on this conference. There will be competetive bidding. This makes me think ESPN will want an early extension in order to lock up the AAC and avoid a competitive bidding scenario.

An ECU pointed out to me one huge difference between the Pac-12, Big XII, and the AAC, which I've highlighted here in bold:

Pac-12 | 45 | 1,680,000 | *****************
Big XII | 46 | 1,580,000 | ****************
A A C | 27 | 1,100,000 | ***********

Those other leagues were hurt by the shear numbers of games shown. What would the AAC average look like with 20 more games? So to pull even with those conferences, you'd need to come up with 20 more "good" games.

That might be where expansion comes into play.

No on low balled us. We were a dumpster fire at the time. We got what NBC was willing to pay, and no one else was knocking on the door. We are in a different place today than 3 years ago.

And the AAC numbers were hurt by the sheer number of AAC games on platforms like ESPN News (which even P5's do poorly on)---not to mention that the AAC broadcast window distribution tended to skew heavily toward the least desireable time slots.

I will say for the members the AAC "Underpaid" is absolutely way underrated.

Grossly pathetically insulting underpaid is more fitting.

OK, one more post and then I'll try to stay out of it:

AmericanRx: the next tv contract

It should be worth $6 to $10 million per team, per year - IMHO.

I have to admit that I really like your site. You seem to come from a more objective and non condescending pov in my opinion. With that said, I would never waste my time going over to the site that that homer from the mac Conference likes to come over here pushing. I'm a fan04-cheers
