RE: 2017 football crossover leaks
Why worry about the crossover games when it's going to take several years to play each cross division team anyway. Just enlarge the conference to two 8 division teams, play zero crossover games and 7 conference games, all in your division. That gives you 5 non-conference games to play with including a pay to play game if needed. If there are cross division teams you have a rivalry you want to keep going, play it as an ooc game.

Expansion is not the answer to any of our problems.

How is that even a conference anymore?

The biggest reason not to have permanent cross-over rivals is that there aren't really any worth doing. UAB may have some history with some eastern teams, and I guess USM might (but it couldn't be that much). With no history and no proximity, you'd just have 7 forced "rivalries" that may or may not ever really grow into anything. They'd mostly be just picking them out of a hat. Without a good reason to do it, you might as well just get back on the schedule that UAB messed up and let it play out.

14 is such a bad number of teams for a conference, but it's what we have.

When is the real conference football schedule coming out? Doesn't the annual conference meeting occur in January?

They usually release the schedules in early February. So we should get them in a couple of weeks.

According to USM beat writer Jason Munz, USM will return to UTSA for a 2nd straight year which means USM has an even 2-2 split with the Texas schools now. Also, Charlotte returns to Hattiesburg for a 2nd straight year. He also said that the 2018 schedule would be the same but flip the location.

Home - UAB, North Texas, UTEP and Charlotte
Road - La Tech, UTSA, Rice, Marshall

Which means that UAB will come to Charlotte this season.

Really wish we would get Southern MIss on our schedule, we have not played them in regular season since 2012 when we were still members of the Sun Belt....I guess this is the season we play Charlotte?

Tech and Southern Miss could trade WKU and Marshall lol. And yeah, you should play Charlotte every year from here on out.
