So we now have:

Former DC:
Temple: Collins
USF: Strong
Cincinnati: Fickell
UConn: Diaco
Tulane: Fritz

Former OC:
UCF: Frost
ECU: Scottie Mo
Navy: Niumatalolo
Tulsa: Phil Mo
Memphis: Norvell
Houston: Applewhite
SMU: Morris

I like the balance in the conference. Temple, Cincinnati, UCONN, and even Navy playing a Big10 style, smashmouth D and hard running game, embrace the cold. Tulane and USF to model SEC, shut em down D, create opportunities for the O. Tulsa, Memphis, Houston, SMU, fast and furious O, Big12 light. ECU+UCF with an ACC focus on skill positions.

Makes for a real interesting conference. Mesh of different styles.

Fleck said he will run a spread like Urban runs at Ohio State
Western Michigan to the AAC?

I am real familiar with Collins. He was on our short list if we didnt get Strong. He isnt proven in a head coaching capacity but hes known as a good recruiter and a defensive mastermind. Hes gonna run a tough program to beat. If he gets a solid OC, then yall will be in really good shape.
Very nice hire.

I completely agree. Usually G5 schools don't have the money to hire a phenomenal offensive coordinator.

Liam Coen, OC at the University of Maine should be interviewed ASAP. He's a Mark Whipple disciple; Pro Scheme out of the gun with a high tempo spread element. Very good, young & affordable and currently recruits the Mid-Atlantic.

Surprise hire. Anyone in Florida have a more informed opinion on him?

A LOT of UCF fans wanted him as head coach before the Frost hire. UF is currently ranked in the top 20, with the one of the worst offenses in football (#115).

A lot of UCF fans are dumb too. They wanted him because he had a catch phrase and was mildly entertaining when GOL's whole staff wasn't. I personally think he's going to be one of those coordinators who is in over his head being the boss.

I think many of us hope that a certain alum comes home to be our OC, but if not, I'm sure Coach Collins has some connections to some great potential OCs. Not worried about the money there at all. There's one FBS OC I'd be happy with who isn't even making $150K a year.

He would also be perfect for UCONN.

UConn needs to improve greatly on O. I don't want to see Diaco go anywhere. Disco is too entertaining.

Let's see if his defense can handle the Triple Option at Michie.
