It would have been fun to see Mitt get the nod and see people's heads explode but not to be. I don't think I'm as frustrated with Tillerson's selection as I am with some of the others.

But I do find one thing off kilter when I read about Tillerson. I'm shocked in this day and age that Exxon Mobil still has a policy in place of a mandatory retirement age at age 65.

I started off my career at the largest law firm spread between Chicago and Atlanta and this was the policy for all partners.

My dad is a partner at a CPA firm

Mandatory retirement ages are still quite common.

They have to have an exit strategy. If you don't, people hang on way too long and they aren't effective. You can't fire them when production slows because they are a protected class.
