I am 5-0 so far. I have Hawaii and Army in the last two, hope I am wrong on both. However, if I am right, I will be the champion for the second time in three years.

EDIT: Three for three now. Congrats on the Boca win, Toppers. Next up on Friday, Old Dominion picked to beat EMU followed by Tech picked to beat Navy. GO MONARCHS! and -- uh -- uh -- ok -- (shh) go dogs.

Way to go Monarchs and Dawgs! Now five an oh with two to go. Next up the Hawaii Bowl. Let's go Blue Raiders!

Hawaii was a much better team than I anticipated. The Raiders just made to many mistakes/turnovers to stay up with them. That makes me 5-1. I've got Army against North Texas, so, I win either way. Let's go Mean Green. Prove me wrong.

Essentially, only the MTSU loss to Hawaii was a disappointment for CUSA. Both UNT and UTSA finished under .500, so the expectations for them weren't as high. The fact that they both played very well in their bowls eases the pain a bit.

HDawg,

It is a shame that we will not meet in regular season for the next two years. Familiarity breeds good rivalries, as evidenced by Army/NoTex. This conference would benefit from some more heated games between passionate fanbases, and has missed the boat with respect to ODU/LaTech in this regard.

Good luck in the offseason.

With the Army win that makes me 6-1. Hell of a game North Texas. I thought you were going to pull it out.

Thanks, I thought we might pull it out too.

Instead of being disappointed in the final score, I'm excited about what we might do next season. North Texas will bring back many of our players. I think what Littrell did with a group of players that went 1-11 in 2015, some juco transfers, and a few true freshmen, is just incredible. I'm looking forward to seeing how he sells this season to recruits.

I agree. Most of us LA Tech fans are very disappointed that we won't have ODU and Marshall on our schedule anytime soon.

The Monarchs and the Mean Green finally get to meet on the field next year when you guys come to Norfolk. That's a long way out, but seems to me it potentially could be shaping up as one of the cross-division games with conference championship implications.

Yep. It's North Texas, not Longwood...

It might have title implications for ODU. North Texas still has a lot of work to do. We probably need another season or two before we can contend with the likes of LA Tech in the west. We need to get a lot better. I'll be happy if we can pick up 7 wins next season.

As for our match up, I just hope it gets picked up for "real" television. I hate watching streamed games.
