You called Charlotte fools gold which doesn't make sense to me. Anyone (including Charlotte fans) who follows the team knew they would be up and down without serious inside presence. The Davidson and Wake Forest shouldn't surprise anyone, they are a middle of the road CUSA team.

I meant I had high expectations coming in to the the season and some of the home wins (Elon, ECU, Oregon St) had me thinking they'd be more competitive in their road games.
I'm not implying Charlotte is a bad team. I'm just saying the verdict is still out on them. Their guard play is going to keep them in every C-USA game.

We're not bad. Just tiny. If the shooting is off and you have a 6'9 athlete and a 6'11" oat guy, you are going to kill us.
When we aren't hitting shots, it's going to be worse.
Having said that, the Charlotte people have been saying this since August.

Good for MTSU. I really think they have a chance to go undefeated in conference play, as difficult as that is. I just think they are that much better than everyone else this season. Even if they don't I fully expect them to win the conference and that along with their impressive OOC performance should secure them an at large regardless of what happens in the tournament. I fully expect them to win that too. I don't know if anyone else in this conference will even earn an NIT bid.

ODU currently sits at 5-4, with 2 of the losses against decent teams (Louisville & VCU) that they simply lost at the foul line by shooting in the mid 40's for each game with 28 or more attempts in each. Had they hit just 60 - 65 percent at the line they win both and are at 7-2 against the same schedule. They have had some other games where they shot at that percentage or higher with the same people at the line, so it is within them to do it. Let's face it, even 65 percent isn't that great.
Rhode Island and LSU are the other loses so they have all been name schools that they have lost to. Defensively, they are still getting it done. If they don't at least improve at the foul line then the seasonal results will surely be less than expected.

The first four conference games (@Old Dominion, @Charlotte, Middle Tennessee, UAB) will probably tell us what post-season chances Rice will have.
It's fun to even post that about Rice basketball; it has been a while coming for the Owls.

Rice has looked good. I expected them to be after seeing their young talent last year. Rice, ODU, Marshall, and UAB will all be in the mix the 2 seed. FAU and LA Tech may be in that mix also.
