Realignment challenge(s)
Here are my challenges:

1) Get FBS down to 8 conferences (eliminate 2), how you go about it is completely up to you

2) Get D-I hoops down to 32 conferences (eliminate 1), once again you have free reign on how you do it.

RE: Realignment challenge(s)
No go. Get the FBS conference up to 15.
Get hoops conferences up to 48.

We need more schools to move up from D2 in areas that are needed. With the FCOAs and all that starting to trickle down to lower levels? We may need to get geography aligned conferences for football and basketball.

RE: Realignment challenge(s)
8 FBS conferences can be done pretty easily with another major realignment.

PAC (Texas Tech, TCU, Baylor, Texas)
B1G (Kansas, Oklahoma)
SEC (Florida State, Clemson)
ACC (USF, UCF)
B12 (Houston, SMU, UTSA, Memphis, Tulane, Cincinnati, New Mexico, Colorado St)
MWC (New Mexico St, UTEP, UNT, Rice)
MAC (UConn, Temple, Navy, East Carolina)
CUSA (App State, Georgia State, AState, Louisiana, USA, Georgia Southern)

The AAC and SBC bite the dust.....

Ah, no. Please no.
You always reference TV; do you think the major networks would like more or less CFB teams?

D-I basketball currently has 32 conferences, so you can't eliminate 1 and still have 32.

I will play along04-bow

Drop AAC, SBC, MWC and CUSA, then create Two New Conferences that somewhat geographically makes sense.

I've never seen anything quite like that before for the MWC.

They are always regarded to be one of the most stable conferences, like the MAC.

Another idea:

The CUSA WEST merges with SBC WEST. The EAST DIVISIONS go to the AAC.
