Watch the fur fly
The colors of blue and gray were chosen by the students in 1912. It was supposed to show the unity between the old north and south.

I graduated way back in 1972. While I was there from 67 til 72 there were several happenings on campus calling for all kinds of changes. During this time Finch and Robinson came on campus. While still a predominately white campus integration was just taking effect. In my opinion Finch and Robinson and several others helped settle the campus and more importantly the city. (Maybe over simplification or sweet re-imaganation.)

Anyway this is a long way to getting to my point that we might look at changing our colors to black and white. How many of our teams have shown up in these colors? Using these colors would again show unity of the university with the city which has changed and to the university students whose make up has also changed.

The name of the institution has changed over the last 100+ years, the make up of the students has changed why not the school colors again to show unity?

Sounds like you're still suffering from post election trauma.

In honor of the gray avenger....Oh, hell no. We fight like Tigers.

Besides, what color do you get when you mix black and white? Gray

RE: Watch the fur fly
Certainly not the worst idea I've read on this message board. I always thought the story behind our school colors were cool. However, I was disappointed when I realized that Georgetown came up with the idea long before us. The black/white idea seems original and would probably make a lot of national headlines. I'm not sold on the idea, but I respect it and I'm also intrigued.

It isn't common, but we wouldn't be the first school to change official colors. Montana and Pitt come to mind.

Not sure why I'm responding seriously, but white/black schemes aren't unheard of.

Happens in soccer. Odessa-Permian High School.

Oakland Raiders are practically this already. Same for the Yankees.

For the record, there might be other schools with the same colors (Xavier?), but we might be the first to do it for that reason?

Please turn in your degree. You have been retroactively expelled. Little known state law still on the books.
