Witchita St. has already hinted if they get chance to jump to the AAC they would go. The AAC makes the most sense for them. Yes they are big fish in a small pond but like Memphis in the old C-USA, it didn't help them much. Too many of the higher RPI teams have already left the MVC. At this point they are feeling left behind.

It's also a function of the schedule. Nobody gets excited to see Tulane or ECU on the schedule.
While I agree with you on this ,your school knew all this in advance and could schedule a much tougher OOC home schedule . There is no way around that, bring in bigger names and you don't have a problem. UCONN has a strong enough rep to get that done.

No reason a good program from a relatively easy conference can't succeed. Wichita has played well OOC and in the tourney over the years. Same with Memphis in Cusa 2.0. 137-14 from 2005--2009 under Calipari for 4 seasons. And 105-33 from 2009--2013 under Pastner. And those include OOC and tourney games where we beat everyone under the sun, well, except for one team.

Memphis' relative lack of success in the AAC is imho due to Pastner, not the increased competition. WSU has the financial backing to keep on even if Marshall takes off somewhere.

I'm pretty sure losing to Wagner and others and being ranked mid 150s is main reason. Memphis would get over 16k in the cusa, but they were nearly unbeatable back then.

I doubt BYU will join as a full member unless we get to the $6 million range, better bowls, etc. It only makes sense to add Boise if the networks pay up too. They are losing their luster fast. Army also fits in our region and branding.
