Conversation prior to commitment:

Ostendorf: "Speaking of fit, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound dual-threat quarterback with a strong arm? That's a dream fit for Malzahn and his offense. Auburn wants somebody who is efficient, who can run and who has the arm strength to throw the ball deep and create explosive plays. Stidham checks all those boxes. As a freshman at Baylor, he completed nearly 70 percent of his passes and threw 12 touchdowns to just two interceptions. He didn't run that much, but I think that would change if he played at Auburn next fall."

Khan: "Maybe Stidham could be what Jeremy Johnson was supposed to be at Auburn."

Ostendorf: "Maybe so. It’s funny because Johnson and Stidham aren’t all that different at this point in their careers. It wasn’t until Johnson became the full-time starter at Auburn that he began to struggle. The hype got to him. How will Stidham handle that same kind of hype? We know it’s coming regardless of which school lands him."

great QB and has a lot of skill. A bit injury prone, but I think a lot of the blame rests on Baylor's OL. Still think this is a monster pull in for Auburn and I expect him to do great things for them.

Nice pick up, the guy was a beast in the playing time he saw at Baylor...I expect him to do very well at Auburn.
