Temple HC discussions
Just got some interesting information from old friends out of the BIG10 world.

Temple's AD has contacted and not been rebuffed by...

Todd Bowles, Jets current HC and former Temple football player
Joe Moorhead, current PSU OC
Greg Schiano, former Rutgers HC and currently assistant coach at OSU
Al Golden, assistant coach with the Lions (Detroit) and former HC at Temple
Bobby Wilder, current Old Dominion HC

I believe Bobby Wilder is the current front runner, FWIW, but these things change by the hour.

The rejections:

Apparently a counter offer was made to Matt Rhule after getting the Baylor offer in hand and it was summarily declined. The Temple DC had been offered and interest seemed to be there, but that ship has sailed. Charlie Strong never returned a phone call from Temple.

The active pursuer (singular):

HC from Troy. Not sure Temple has interest here.

Other news:

UConn is having their legal counsel re-examine their contract with Diaco.

UConn should hire Todd Orlando and completely deprive Herman of his coordinators.

Golden is the one I find surprising. I didn't think he'd be interested in returning. I think any of them could be successful though I wonder a bit about the wisdom of bringing Golden back. Wilder is the only one I wouldn't have guessed would be on a few days ago. He's a good coach and I think would do well at Temple.

Wilder or Moorhead. We need a dynamic coach who can relate to the kids who is not stale on offense (and realizes that defense wins championships).

Joe Moorhead is an interesting name and would be my first choice. He took as an OC at a bad PSU offense from last year, with many of the same players, and achieved success.

The biggest difference was at QB where 5 star Hackenberg struggled most of 2015. Three star Trace McSorley took over in 2016 and had much more success then Hackenberg.

Charlie Strong has instructed his agent about his strict per-capita tinder account requirement for potential coaching jobs.

Because I don't want him. And neither does Shere.

Why not - because he failed in the NFL. Spurrier, Saban, and Holtz, all failed in the NFL and the last I checked they all have National Championships at the collegiate level.

Schiano brought Rutgers back from the dead over the years he spent there and recruits Florida well along with local talent. Schiano would be a great catch for Temple if they can get him.
