I think either Applewhite or Orlando was the right guy . My preference was Orlando of course. But Major has some plusses going for him too. His name will definitely resonate with recruits. It'll be interesting. I'm hoping for a little more creativity with the offense. The "smashmouth spread" needs a tune up.

Only familiar with Applewhite in name, no idea of his personality, work ethic, ability, etc. But he is definitely a step up from Kiffin. Kiffin would have set you guys up for a **** show and set you back for years.

Thank goodness it wasn't a failed hired gun like Kiffin. The last time UH hired from within though, it set UH football back a full decade.

Who are you referring to? Levine was our last "in hire" and while he may not of been stellar his tenure was really just a small bump in the road.

I would be shocked if he stays. Orlando will almost definitely take DC at Texas now.

I don't like this hire, taking huge gamble with this hire. Program has built up all kind of good momentum. UH may fritter it away with this hire. With that said, I wish him all the best. Like someone said he has great Texas HS ties for recruiting and was willing to accept a huge contract buy out. Which I guess the other candidate, weren't willing to concede too.
