Looking forward to the renewal zf UAB - Memphis
Been too long. UAB is 5-4 with best wins over George Washington and Stephen F Austin. Losses are to St, Mary's (ranked 12), Kansas( ranked 3rd), Auburn and Furman.

The Furman WTF loss occurred in the second game a couple of days after losing our point guard for the season. Between the Grizzlies and the Blazers, it's not good to be a point guard if I root for your team.

UAB's strength is its front court. William Lee averages around 3 blocks a game and is ranked nationally in blocks. Chris Cokley is our leading scorer.

The back court is where we are weakest right now, specifically perimeter defense. I think 4 or 5 different teams have scored double digit threes against us. Losing Nick Norton, our coach on the floor is tough. Deion Lavender, a transfer from Southern Illinois is primarily a 2 guard, but is forced to play point.

UAB is now coached by Rob Ehsan, who was an assistant and promoted to the main chair when Jared Haase took the Stanford job after a 26 win season last year. Ehsan coached under Gary Williams at Maryland and is one of the youngest coaches in D1.

Speaking of young coaches, whatever happened to that nice young Jewish kid who looked like Peter Brady who used to coach you guys. 03-lmfao

Looking forward to the game. Would love to rekindle the football series too. The Battle for the Bones trophy is one of the best trophies out there.

Glad this game is happening again. Growing up in Knoxville, I always had a soft spot for Memphis. Any time they gave UT a game in Football or won in basketball, it was glorious.

That said, I hope UAB wins by 20 tomorrow (though I'm certainly not holding my breath)

The game was a lot of fun, and brought back some good memories. The Blazers (fans and team) represented well today.

And, of course... F UAB
