Kent State vs. Niagara
The Flashes host the Niagara Purple Eagles tonight at the MAC Center. The Purple Eagles have a record of 2-6 with wins over Drexel and Iona. They have played a decent looking mid major schedule with losses to Buffalo, Hartford and Rutgers to name a few.

They are paced by 6' 4 junior Matt Scott and 6'0 junior Kahlil Dukes. Scott is averaging 19 and 6 while Dukes hits for 16 and 2.

Bottom line is that this one, like all of the games in the homestand, is winnable. It would be nice to see the Flashes go on a heater before the games with Texas and Oregon State to drum up some interest leading up to MAC play.

Kent State 76
Niagara 69
De La Rosa with his best game as a Flash. Double - Double!

Looked like a solid first half. Avery and DeBerry provided a spark off the bench. Interesting to see Edwards getting some minutes over Pippen. Anyone know if Pippen is banged up or something?

Anybody have a link that works? That takes me to a women's game vs. YSU that hasn't started yet.

No bueno, all I'm getting is a countdown to WBB vs. YSU.

I thought I heard Ty say the Pippen is hurt.

Yeah I was there and Pippen had a boot on. The way he was walking it didn't look too serious but you can't be sure.[/i]

They sure look good at home. This 28 point win was their closest game at home to date.

RE: Kent State vs. Niagara
Seems like the transfers are starting to come around. De La Rosa, Zabo, Ridenour, and DeBerry have all started to contribute more lately. De La Rosa has exceeded my expectations thus far. When we signed him I watched some of his HS clips. He looked like he couldn't move, certainly couldn't jump. In one of the videos I remember him getting monster blocked by a guard more than once. So I was thinking it'd be at least a full year before we could start to expect anything out of him. The way he's changed his body is incredible and shows that he's got the work ethic necessary to succeed. Currently he's contributing more than a lot of very good transfers we've had this early into their first season. So I'm very pleased with what I've seen from him thus far. Hopefully he keeps improving.

Anyone know anything about the severity of Pippen's injury? I'd hate to lose him for a long period of time. He's out best athlete inside.

RE: Kent State vs. Niagara
I was pretty much down on the team and coaches when we lost 3 games that we should have won, but please allow me to make a complete change. Just think of what we had last year and how Sendy made a complete transformation of talent for this season. Raw talent level is much increased. This team is making steady progress. Everyone is making a contribution. Encouraging to see the team play without JH for more than half of the game and not only hold the lead but expand upon it after a Niagara run. De la Rosa will be a serviceable big for several years to come. He does not really jump but he has a body and is developing some offensive moves. He is going to get better. Our guard play is really stepping up with nice depth. Pippen has a cast and will have a MRI today. Stay tuned. Follow signed recruit D J Duling from Newark as he looks like possibly the best player in the State. Scored 27 the other night against Dayton Dunbar. I can get excited. Great job coaches!

We all need to make sure we don't get too low (or who knows, maybe too high) after the games against Texas or Oregon State.

Friggin Pippen get hurt could be a problem.

We certainly want him back but our team is very deep.
