Avery is 3rd in the nation in scoring.

4th is Adrian Hicks, 6-1 SO G from right up the road at Columbia State CC (played HS in Georgia) at 25 ppg. Also averaging 4 apg, 4 rpb, 4 steals and shooting 50% from 3. Team is 8-3.

Also in state - Ricky Dunnaway, 6-8 230 for 13-0 Walters State CC.

Averaging 13 and 10.

CONNORS 97, SEMINOLE 85 — Memphis sophomore Adarius Avery scored a career high 41 points in leading the 15th-ranked Connors State Cowboys to an impressive 97-85 victory over Seminole State Thursday night on the Trojans home floor.

Avery’s previous career high was 29 against Brookhaven last season.

It was the Cowboys’ eighth consecutive victory and second straight in Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference play. Seminole falls to 10-2 and 1-1 in league play.

Avery drained 13-of-16 at the free throw line.

Trailing by eight points at the half, the Cowboys outscored the Trojans 53-34 with improved defensive play and shooting. The Cowboys took the lead for good with 10-minutes remaining in the game.

Rashawn Langston was the third member of the Cowboys to score in double-figures with 11 points.

Three Trojans scored in double digits led by Joseph Bradshaw with 18 points, followed by Trejon Jacob with 17 and Leon Sneed added another 12 points.

My wonder is IF they have Dedric returning, then they are at 12 scholarships and probably want to save for a big.

If not, then they are at 11 and have some wiggle room.

That's not even counting the possibility that someone else leaves the program or something like Chad doesn't get a waiver for another year, etc.

Either way, 12 if DL comes back, 11 if he leaves...as of right now.

Incredibly impressive how often he gets to the stripe.....THAT type of production means he's a "go to player" ...."clutch".....definitely need MORE of that on this roster fo sho!

Yep - his percentages are what stand out, that and he's top 20 in NJCAA in rebounding too.

Really hope he's not another Jemerrio Jones that's going to get away.

No way Dedric would get eaten alive in the pros right now, not sure he will ever be an NBA player. Tell me who he could guard and at what position?
