It's a shame we couldn't get any traction with Trey Smith at USJ in Jackson. He's a 5-star OL and a beast. Saban and Urban Meyer were both on campus yesterday. UTK fans thought they had him before the season, but now it's not so sure. He will announce this afternoon and enroll in January. Finalists are UTK, Old Miss, Notre Dame, Clemson, OSU and Alabama.

Would like to see us make more inroads there. USJ, Liberty, Northside, TCA, Southside, JCS, Humboldt - they've put out some players over the past decade. We get some but seems like we could do better.

Norvell is sharp in this area. I bet he has a plan.

Really? For what position? People blasted us for hiring Keelon who had won multiple HS championships.

I can't believe he turned down a chance to win a national championship at either Alabama or Ohio State. Tennesee won't even be in the picture to get a shot in the playoffs. I think it was a big mistake on his part to commit to Tennessee when he could have done better.

Will he replace Richmond ?

It's a compliance position, lol. I guess they removed the rule about family had to be full-time assistants if they are hired. Keelon got the waiver and they were considering removing the whole regulation.

Rumor is it's a $300k position. Hilarious. How does UTK get this kind of stuff approved through their governing board, when we get flack about everything? (That's rhetorical.)

He mentioned Butch in this short video, but it sounds like the kid was going to UT if Butch was the coach or not, signed with the school and not the coach, IMO. No doubt he is aware the brick layer is on the hot seat for next season.

Yea, "the school" hired his sister. Not Butch. She had a position whether he was coaching or not. Just a coincidence though, that they hired her a few months before the commitment.
