Your absolutely right. Now I feel like our program has to start over again.
And why is it that if a coach is fired, the school has to pay him or negotiate a buyout. Yet, when a coach leaves, they wish well, with no consequences ?

Temple survived when Golden left. For most programs, coaching attrition is a part of the routine. Find the right guy and keep getting it.

Temple will get paid money for Rhule leaving. They certainly had a buyout in his contract.

RE: Rhule
Mack Rhoades tried to hire Rhule last year when Rhoades was at Missouri. Since Baylor is probably doubling Rhule's salary and his existing relationship with Rhoades, can't say I'm surprised he's headed to Baylor. Rhule is truly set for life fianancially no matter how things turn out at Baylor.

WTF?! This is bizarre! Unless Baylor offered double the money, how the hell is Baylor a better job than Mizzou right now? Not to say he should've necessarily gone to Missouri but if you turn them down what possesses you to go to Baylor!? SEC East+Arkansas every year and only 1 out of SEC West versus playing Texas, Oklahoma, OKST, and TCU every single year.

Why would you ever go to Baylor before they even know what the NCAA sanctions will be? Sure the NCAA said they won't be as bad as Penn State but you could still have to do without a lot of scholarships.

Will be interesting to see what his salary ends up being. It could be the last big payday of his coaching life.

RE: Rhule
Hate to see Rhule leave Temple. I knew it was going to happen one day...............but to Baylor!!!!!!????? All I can think of is that Mack Rhoades did one major sales pitch. He is not going to do well there. Briles is the only coach since Grant Teaff that has done anything for that program because he came from Texas high school coaching, and it took that reputation along with his coaching skills to turn that program around. I feel that it is a huge career mistake for Rhule.

Condolences to Owl fans.

Yeah that's my thought process I'd much prefer that Missouri job to the shat storm that Baylor is right now. Between his zero relationships in Texas, complete change in coaching style, and whatever ends up happening to Baylor over all this mess he better have gotten a gigantic buyout and some extra years on that deal.

Baylor?

His isn't a texas guy nor does he fit the big 12 style of play.. Overall I think this will be a bad decision

This.

He left Temple better than he found it.

Temple has a lot to sell the next guy.

The problem is you are always one coaching hire away from being UCONN. Temple is in a better situation now and can attract better candidates, but it is always a toss of the dice.
No program is immune from that, fishpro; at least no one in this conference. We've all proven that to be true at some time.

Unfortunately almost any P5 job is more attractive than what we can offer coaches. It sucks, but it is what it is.

Style of play? Who cares? You can win playing a variety of styles. Baylor has been a top 10 program for the last few years. Texas guy? Mack Brown came over from NC and had a pretty successful career. Leach was from California and coached as an OC at Kentucky...he managed to do pretty well at Texas Tech. Good coaches find a way to get it done. If he was going to a coaching graveyard like Kansas or Purdue I may have more questions, but he isn't. Now he gets a chance to do it for more money at a high level. He isn't going to fail because he's not a Texas guy...
