We didnt panic. Was afraid we were going to get antsy but we knew exactly what we were doing and cam up huge on the defensive end in the last minutes of the game. 79-66, and a huge turnout of MT fans there. Not quite half of the crowd but we sounded as loud as the BU group in the arena. What a game! What a win! Williams Upshaw Potts played great again and I thought Dixon did too.

MT started strong, withstood the Bruins best shot, and the Raiders finished it strong 18-4. 79-66 on the road. Freshman PG Dixon with two huge threes late. Raiders 10-1 and go to face VCU Saturday.

To add one more thing from mobile ... thought our frosh PG Dixon had the two biggest shots of the game. He got open in the last few minutes and drained two wide open threes that sealed the game for us. Definition of clutch!!

Middle is head and shoulders above everyone in the conference right now. If UAB hadn't lost their point god they could be there with them but they did lose their point god.
That's an impressive win AT Belmont. They don't lose many games at all and they almost NEVER lose at home.
Middle will beat us by 30.
St Mary's is a good team. But that's beside the point. They beat the dogpiss out of us tonight. So little effort by some of our guys.

Rice improved to 8-2 today with a 29 point win over St. Edwards (non Division 1 team). It was our annual school day game where we invite a bunch of school kids in for free to watch the game right before they leave for Xmas break. I think we had 5300 (mostly kids) at the game? Another big upset potential for Rice Saturday at Pitt, but even if they can't pull that one off, they should finish non-conference play at 10-3 which would probably be our best NC record in a long, long time.

Rice stands a good chance to win that game. Pitt is one of the worst in the nation at turning teams over and they aren't great from behind the arc.

Off topic, but ECU is so bad, it's painful.

That just set a NCAA record for the fewest points allowed in a lady's game in a half

Basketball isn't my first sport, so somebody who's been paying attention help me out. What do you think about the Lady Techsters so far? 5-4, wins over 4 D1 teams: Grambling by 14, at ULM by 20, at McNeese by 10, and Nichols by 16. Other win is NAIA LSUS 103-63. Losses are to LSU by 4, Clemson by 11 in OT, SFA by 2, and Auburn by 10. Remaining 2 OOC games are at Memphis and at ULL.
Obviously still a long way to go before getting back to their glory days (which I wasn't around for ), but are we going to at least do better than we did under T-Spoon and He Who Shall Not Be Named? I've had a good feeling about the new HC.
As for the Dunkin Dawgs, I think they'll do ok, but we got a lot of young players. They (especially Omar Sherman and Joniah White) seem to be gaining confidence each game, tho.

The Baylor women set a record the other night by beating Winthrop by 108 points I think. The final score was 140-32? So that's your goal WK ladies.
