This is where the Big 12 is today. What member of that conference would not join another P5 if the opportunity was present? WVU would jump to the ACC. Kansas would jump to the Big 10. OU with OkState attempted to join the PAC. OU may leave to the SEC or Big 10. UT cannot be trusted not to destroy the conference.
The members cannot agree on expansion even though it would be good for most of them. Media companies refuse to support a conference network. A G5 school knocked their champion from the play-off consideration.

It'll be dead as soon as the GOR is over. Once the GOR and LHN are dead, Texas will look to go to the Pac 12 or Big 10. OU will also have options open to them.

There's zero chance of the Big 12 surviving past the GOR.

A lot of P5s don't fill their stadiums weekly. The AAC has had some very good crowds.

I live in Alabama and attend a Bama game or two per year. Even the mighty Bama has empty seats at games. I have been to Bama games with about 60% capacity before.
