WKU short list
Charlie Strong. Mike Sanford. And probably Ed Warinner. That's all from this morning.

RE: WKU short list
I listed the ones I was told from this morning. And the 3rd one is from separate places.

Briles and Levine seem like obvious looks and will probably get looks.

I said Strong a week ago before Saturday's game. Not sure how his payoff is structured.

I know Houston was on the hook to Levine for 250k per year. This year it was 250 minus whatever Western was paying him.

I would have Strong at the top of my list and at the very least see if Briles was interested.

He is gone with his older Bro to Purdue..

I venture to guess the players want Levine, but I trust our AD to make the best possible hire...NO to Ty Helton, he was Brohm's puppet and he is not leaving USC under his brother anyway..Sanford is a interesting name, where is he now? I know he was at Boise before he came here the first time...Either way we need to hire an Offense sided guy to keep up in this conference...

According to ESPN...

Candidates for Western Kentucky's vacancy include Troy coach Neal Brown, Idaho coach Paul Petrino and Western Kentucky co-offensive coordinator Tony Levine, the former head coach at Houston.

I've been hearing the Neal Brown rumor for awhile even though the gumps thoroughly denied any way he'd leave Troy for Western on the SBC board.

We flew Paul Petrino in here when Willie Taggart got the job. He was O Coordinator at Arky at the time.

I think Levine will get an interview for sure. He preserves roster continuity to some degree.

But don't rule out the ones I started this thread with. Came from inside the room this morning.

OK boys, welcome to success in the G5.
Can you just reload and not skip a beat like some of you think.
Maybe so if you hold your nose and hire Briles for one year.

Warinner reached out to Ryan Wallace asking questions about the job. Peanut Head Bishop is getting his scoop from Purple-Land.
