Until their coach makes a decision, I'm not making any predictions other than "Points."

Here is what ESPN says:

Dec. 20

Boca Raton Bowl: Memphis vs. Western Kentucky
(7 p.m., ESPN, FAU Stadium, Boca Raton, Florida)
Take the over in this one. These teams combine to average 84.6 points per game. Western Kentucky has had four 50-point games, while Memphis scored 77 on Sept. 24. Memphis seems more battle-tested after playing in the AAC, and the uncertainty about coach Jeff Brohm's future makes me leery about the Hilltoppers. Memphis in a shootout. Memphis 45, Western Kentucky 40.

Their smart chart is not favorable for Tigers but i feel there are other variables that will come into play.

I look for at least one if not both teams scoring on special teams and/or defense.

Their kick off returns against our kick off return defense will be a key.

I'd like to know which games wku got their returns for td in. Big difference between doing it against Alabama and old dominion.
...not intriguing enough to look it up tho.

It's hard to return a kick that goes through the end zone. #Jake

Yep. Unless they have Inspector Gadget elastic arms they can't return what they can't touch.

RE: ESPN Bowl Game predictions
High scoring game but Tigers win by 10. The head coach leaving is very unsettling to a team. Assistant coaches are in a quandary as to whether they will have a job and some will be told they are leaving and going to Purdue. This creates an atmosphere where assistants do not see the need to put in a lot of extra work. The problem with the head coach leaving is more to do with the attitudes of the assistant coaches who are left there to coach the team while important uncertainties go through their minds. That also includes the family effects of wives leaving new friends, kids leaving schools and friends in the middle of a school year. Lots of emotional and distracting stuff going on here.

RE: ESPN Bowl Game predictions
Some interesting predictions from their FPI page

Except they pick the Hilltoppers

• Conference bragging rights? The American Athletic Conference has the highest projected winning percentage (.607) of any conference this bowl season.

• The SEC is sending 12 teams, including 5-7 Mississippi State (they get Miami of Ohio, 6-6, whose best win is, uh, no good win), to bowls this season, which is tied for the most ever by one conference. Unlike last season, however, when the SEC went 9-2 with a plus-16 scoring margin, the SEC is expected to go about .500 in this season's bowls.

It sure seems like the SEC picks out the bowl line ups, looks that way every year.

I guess I didn't pay enough attention to the teams when we were horrible. I don't want to watch many of these games.

MTSU vs Hawaii?
Army vs NTU?
Maryland vs Boston College?
Many more

I do want to see
UCF vs ASU
VT vs Arkansas
Boise vs Baylor
USF vs USC
UTK vs Nebraska
and that WKU games sounds fun.

It seems like when they do run it back they end up inside the 10 yard line.

Many, many times. Good hang time, good coverage, good tackling, poor return decisions.
