AAC Conf Champ...
plays a 6-6 Wake Forest Team that lost 6 of it's last 8 games.
What a joke.

We definitely need a good bowl tie in for our champion if it is not the access bowl.

We've got the best situation of any G5. Unfortunately, that's little consolation. Need a stronger tie-in for the champ, I agree. Normally, that should be the Access. But we need a bowl in our footprint to step-up, and fans to support it. Pinstripe could be it for the Northeastern schools. It pays $2M. Better bet might be Texas Bowl ($3M) or Gator ($2.75M). We could give them an out if our top team goes to Access.

What a joke.
So.... I hope Temple hangs a hundred on them.

Army beat Wake Forest. They have a decent defense but no offense. If Temple decides to show up, they will win in a rout. If they are disappointed with their opponent like last year, then look out.

Temple has a heck of a team and deserves a better match up. Until the American champ can regularly appear in New Years 6 game then a Liberty / Music City type bowl venue could be acceptable.

Would love to see Temple vs. Tennessee. I think it'd be a nail biter for the SEC.

I don't think it would be much of a nail biter. Temple would pull away and win by 17 in the 4th quarter.
Well...up to the point of Rhule still being there for the game. Seems he's headed to Baylor instead.

The AAC champion needs a good bowl tie in if they miss out on the G5 NY6 slot which will probably be 2 out of 3 years, at least.
6-6 Wake Forest that has lost 3 in a row and 6 of its last 8 games. Think about what a joke that is.

The AAC has turned out to be a really good FB conference, but the bowl situation really is bad. Losing the Liberty Bowl tie in really hurt.

I wouldn't say we miss out 2 out of 3 at least. I would say 2 out of 3 at most. More likely 1 out of 2. The AAC is widening the gap in the G5. If you look at the power rankings since the CFP, we have gotten better every year. The MWC and the MAC have declined slightly. So much that this year a 2-loss AAC champion would have gotten serious consideration over an undefeated MAC. Temple, Houston, USF - had any of them won the CCG with 2 losses, they had a shot at the bowl. Win it with 1 loss, and you're in - guaranteed. MAC or MWC have to run the table and hope we lose 2-3 games.
But the bigger point is, yes, I'd like to see a better landing spot for our champ. I think it's doable, but will take a couple more years to let some of the contracts run out. Most were probably restructured in 2014 with the CFP. 5 years from then probably?

This conference never had the Liberty to lose in the first place.
