OT: The Playoff
So, it looks like:

1. Ohio State is in over Penn State because it's more important to win a good OOC slate than to win your conference championship.

2. Washington is in over Penn State because it's more important to win your conference championship than to schedule a good OOC slate.

The committee definitely had a tough decision. Just wondering how the rest of you stand on it.

Don't care.

RE: OT: The Playoff
Lost a lot of credibility in my eyes. They didn't value the Conference Championship because Penn State and Ohio State weren't head to head in who was getting in. Penn State lost to Pitt who beat playoff team Clemson and were dismantled by Michigan, who was one bad call away from also beating Ohio State.

Washington deserved to be there but based on 2014 when a Big XII team didn't get in because of Conference Championships, it's deluded to fail to use the same argument when discussing division mates in Penn State and Ohio State.

They just make it up as they go and get the teams they want in. Its good ole boy and money based.

Until they go to 8 it will be basically the same handful of name teams and you just manipulate argument to fit.

It needs to be the P5 conference champions, highest rated/ranked G5 then the next 2 highest rated as at larges(most likely P5)

I agree. This seems like a workable solution that would eliminate most arguments.

It needs to be moved to 8 spots. They will always have controversy no matter the layout but only having four spots is hard to justify in my mind. This year is a perfect example as to why.

RE: OT: The Playoff
All conferences need to do away with divisions and have their two best teams play for the conference championship. That will end some of these problems.

Eliminate divisions, split conferences up and eliminate championship games. If they are going to hurt your playoff chances and winning the conference doesn't carry any weight, why put an emphasis on it if you are the schools?

Michigan had the only chance to beat Bama imo. They just matched up better.
