Because the SWAC has so much tradition with the bands they can make their CG an event. And SWAC fans will travel to an event regardless of who is playing. CUSA fanbase does not have that kind of passion.

CUSA should invite Southern University.

This is completely subjective at this level. The difference between 13k attendance and you kids shutting up about our attendance is trivial and wouldn't make the slightest dent in the grand scheme of things. The ONLY thing that's objective is winning... and that's the ONLY thing football is about.

You're just making mountains out of molehills, bud.

No it's not... teams need money to build their programs. That's why P5 teams payout millions a year to play us & we typically accept an ass kicking for a meal ticket.. With big crowds and large G5 fans bases attract more sponsors & or boosters. Which in turn can drastically improve a Universities academics & facilities. The teams like Boise, Houston, UCF, Cincy, San Diego st, Northern Illinois, ECU, & even some FCS teams like NDSU have benefited from promotion of their brand from within to reach outside markets to make the impact where money is made and leverage is had. Football is about money now. Things have changed. Yes obviously winning is huge but wins should equal opportunities to gain money, leverage & a chance to move up. That's why everyone wants to be in P5. That TV money.

Again, for the 5th time. I'm not trying to attact you or your attendance. I'm just saying we need to do better if we want to be taken seriously. You guys have won 2 in a row for the first time in 40 years. That's very good. I respect that.

I don't enjoy wasting time talking about that WE need to do better about attendance when it is virtually a moot point. Might as well be discussing all the peace the Middle East needs and potential solutions to finally resolve the Israeli/Palestinian conflict.

You are more than happy to make attendance your number one priority and buy into the money game of football. I don't... my priority is on the performance of my team and football will never be a "business" to me, the fan. It will be a sport I enjoy watching. It's really sad the lot of you got suckered into this 'money/moving up' BS that you harp on it constantly. Forgot the love of the game... what a shame.

I've never liked attendance being discussed at all, but the reality of today is that it's important to have a lot of fans.

Actually it's not. Just look at the number of games late at night or early in the morning or on weeknights. Attendance is no longer the focal point of our AD's

It's selling season Tickets then getting as much TV time as you can get

With that Western is right up there on season tickets sold with most of CUSA schools. The one thing no AD can predict is the...

weather
what else is going on on game day
wins and losses

They can have a informed guess on wins but till the games are played it's just that

All three will affect the walkup paying public...not one of those will affect season tickets sold for that year or getting face time on tv for that season.

At the FBS level it's all about TV exposure over butts in the seats. That might change but right now that is the focus
