Just beat a top 25 team.

End of the year, this will turn out to be a really good win for us.

I wouldn't count on that. They are very young like us, no guard play and are not good defensively. But it will be way better than the rest of our wins so far.

Jury's out on Tubby. I don't like him; I don't dislike him.

He's done nothing that should impress anyone so far.

Being better at press conferences than Josh is his best accomplishment so far.

The next thing he really has a chance to do is to land a great recruiting class. We'll see if he does.

You clearly have no understanding of basketball and the complete empty cupboard he has inherited. All of our top guys this year are far surpassing last years numbers. The man can coach, let him keep adding D1 talent and you will change your tune.

This is the most talented roster Tubby has had since Kentucky... 3 4*s and a plethora of 3*s. The cupboard isn't remotely bare compared to our competition.

You can a roster full of 5* players but if you are still missing crucial skillsets (Ballhandling and Perimeter Defense) you will struggle.

I understand basketball. My tone on Tubby is generally neutral with a slightly negative lean. I'm neither in or out on Tubby at this point. He didn't inherit an empty cupboard; he inherited a cupboard that wasn't full. It's his job to fill it and I think he could have done better with this year's roster than resorting to an open tryout on campus to get practice bodies. That's my opinion; your mileage may vary.

And that is why we have a coach to mask or compensate for deficiencies. We are only weak at the 5 and it hasn't exactly hurt us talent-wise since we haven't faced a true 5 yet.

Martin has improved
Crawford has dramatically improved
Randall has improved
KJ looks to be under more control

We actually seem to run a semblance of offense but I guess some will disagree on this part. But if anyone disagrees on the above 4 points then they are just plain debbie downers. In the short time Tubby has been here multiple players have shown marked improvement. Give him more time and we may actually return to the glory days of Tiger basketball.

most players do improve as they mature and get more college experience.

Didn't see much of that with the previous regime barring very few exceptions. The Markel, Martin and Randall turnarounds within the span of a few months have been impressive. Tubby and his staff has played a huge role in their development.

Dedric's numbers are basically equal to last 12 games last season. No improvement there except shot selection and stronger physically. Lack of PG/reliable entry passer really hurts him.

Martin works his azz off-no surprise there; next PG skills.

Crawford has improved-I attribute most of that to being a JR and being looked up to. Had same skills last year.

KJ has improved and Tubby has made him understand he is not in HS anymore and can't be jacking up wild shots-good coaching here.

Rest of guys have a ways to go to be High D1 impact players; thought Randall had found his shot but very inconsistent.

Yep

I lean to the positive side at the moment

By February of year 2 I will probably know one way or the other

Right now I'm just enjoying seeing a different face on the sideline

Crawford has been under Pastner for 3 years...3 years of Pastner coaching...He actually regressed his second year of playing.

He shot 30+% from the 3 point line his first year and second year he was afraid to shoot...Hell teams quit guarding him because Pastner killed his confidence with his you miss you sit substitution patterns.

He still is not a good 3 point shooter; that being said, I KNOW Tubby is a better coach than knucklehead who should have never been hired here. Confidence does wonders for a player's game. He actually played 2 years for Pastner-redshirt injury year.
