Tulsa would have beat Temple.
*waits for backlash*
Serious congrats to the Owls though. Not many thought you'd win and you proved us wrong and did it convincingly.

I'm happy we're playing at Tulsa so I can see the Invisiblehand Memorial Quality Loss banner flying.

We were hustled by teenage girls.

Congrats to Temple on the win.
This conference is highly competitive; the chances of any team going through this conference with 0 losses is virtually very low.....possibly non existent.
Let's hope all AAC teams win their respective bowl games.

Temple has a smart coach, I'm surprised he isn't being talked about more nationally for these big P5 openings. Lucky for Temple.
I think he prepared his team by looking at two games - his own team's loss to Army earlier this year, and USF's win over Navy.
USF told him how to approach the game offensively: Have the mindset that you have to get out to a fast start, get ahead of Navy, and you do that by being aggressive. We saw that on the first possession when Temple eschewed a field goal and went for it on 4th and 7 from the Navy 20. That was USF's mindset, "touchdowns or bust", and Temple had it too. I was impressed, because that meant playing outside Temple's usual comfort zone, which is to slowly grind the other team down at the line of scrimmage, playing conservative field position football, and letting the points come later after you've laid that groundwork. The Temple coach knew that wouldn't work against Navy and he was willing and able to adapt.
And getting mowed down by Army's option attack in game one gave them plenty of experience about what they did wrong against that kind of attack and how to correct it. Navy usually has a big advantage because teams aren't used to their offense, but Temple had gotten a heavy dose of it versus Army and they learned their lessons well, again smart coaching.

Monken should be the winner but he is good at blowing opportunities.
Sorry to hear about the injuries. They are great players and great men. Besides, I want to beat Navy at full strength. As Thomas Paine said, “The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly; it is dearness only that gives everything its value."
Noone is ever at full strength at this point of the year. Army has lost its share of starters too, including overcoming the death of one of its best defensive players who was a well liked leader on the team. These things happen.
Army Navy this year will be fair and square. No excuses. Navy will still be hugely favored, and rightly so. But Army will give it everything, and I think it's very doable. Got my tickets in hand.
Go Army!! Beat Navy!!
