5000+ Veterans Records Found In Storage Locker
Quote:More than 5,000 “personally identifiable” records of Virginia veterans were included in boxes of paperwork discovered Sept. 29 in a storage unit leased by a fired Virginia Department of Veterans Services employee.

Quote:But regrettably, the agency said, the benefit claims of nearly 700 veterans found in the storage unit had either been filed late or not filed at all, and others were missing medical and/or personnel records needed to process the claims.

Quote:The nearly 700 affected claims are now “all in the pipeline,” Herthel said, and are being reviewed by the federal Veterans Affairs Department for adjudication.
“And that process will take six to 12 months — maybe a little bit quicker than that,” Herthel said. “They’re all being expedited.”

6 to 12 months is expedited??? Thanks Obama!

6 to 12 months is about on par with a single payer system. Thats how long it will take them to tell you you aint getting healthcare for your problem.

More incompetence from this administration in regard to Veterans. Someone should go to prison over this.

Shameful. It's time the federal government got back to doing things like defending the country and its borders and maintaining the interstate highway system. Not much else need be done. Think of the money that free up for the states to use.....and use better.

They are even dropping the ball on the interstate highway system.

The roads are aging and new interstates which are desperately aren't being built because the EPA wants to save a daisy.

I was on the road today and we saw how the Liberal city council works. We were fascinated with the brand new walking trail that they just built and no one uses on one major street. One problem, the street next to it was full of potholes and cracks. It hasn't been fixed in a while. This is a major street leading to a large shopping center mind you .

In Texas they build a lot of toll roads without federal funds because they can do it years quicker and vastly cheaper. Its one of the reasons a private company can build a high speed rail line between Houston and Dallas for $10-$12 billion while the California high speed rail line is at $100 billion and counting.

The Texas toll road system is pathetic and a direct tax to the middle class. I wish toll roads and those who advocate for them just suffer utter failure. The middle class suffers these f'n tolls and it just boggles my mind to see Republicans in this state push for it. I'd happily pay an income tax if they scrapped it.

4 Resign From Veterans Facility After Oklahoma Veteran With Maggots In Wound Dies

Trump has got to fix the VA disaster...No excuse for this happening. None.

Quote:TALIHINA, Okla. – Four staff members have resigned from a southeastern Oklahoma veterans facility rather than face the possibility of getting fired, after a resident was found to have maggots in a wound.

Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs executive director Myles Deering said the maggots were discovered while the patient was alive at the facility in Talihina, about 130 miles southeast of Tulsa. Deering said the maggots were not the cause of his death.

Deering said the veteran came to the center with an infection and died of sepsis, the Tulsa World reported.

The agency said a physician’s assistant and three nurses, including the director of nursing, resigned after an investigation was conducted. Spokesman Shane Faulkner said all four chose to resign before the termination process began.

Unfortunately they just turn into typical government workers after a while too and don't truly take care of patients anymore.

I talked to some VA nurse practitioners at a conference a few weeks ago. I asked them how many patients they see per day. They told me 10-15 in a day. I about fell off my chair. I see double that much in a given day.
