How to end the Navy/WMU argument
Have them settle it on the field with the winner moving on...

You know, like a real playoff...

Navy has nothing to prove. We saw what we saw tonight.

Better idea.

Let them both play Temple. Whoever loses by less goes to the Cotton Bowl.

I would actually love that. But I'm also not assuming that we will be Temple tomorrow.

Sorry, but hopefully, this scenario will not come to fruition.

If Navy wins they should just do a Navy/WMU Cotton Bowl I mean Colorado? Oklahoma St? Give these two teams a bowl that would be epic (I know not going to happen)

I don't see a 2 loss Navy jumping a 12-0 team. If WMU lost, Navy was going.

RE: How to end the Navy/WMU argument
No disrespect to Western, but I do not think they are the best team in the Group of 5. They are not even the best G5 team on my team's schedule. They are the only FBS team we have scored 30+ points on this year. If we had not made one of the worst hires in FBS history at head coach, we probably beat them in Kalamazoo.

I'm a fan of PJ Fleck and like the contingent of their fans here and I am glad a long-struggling program has finally found some success, but I just do not think they are the best G5 team.

BTW, I agree that if the P5 can basically have their playoff, why not have the two best G5 conference champions play for a spot in the Access Bowl?

Navy is really good but I don't see them getting the nod over an undefeated WMU team....most fans aren't watching either very closely and so just look at schedule. 12-0 is all they need to see to make that call.

Now, had WMU lost, that is a different story.

Homerism aside, swap the Bearcat's with Navy with the exact same schedule and scenario as we have now. Do you say the same thing? Do you look at the Bearcat's in that same light? Just curious.

If Navy wins the next 2, they deserve it.

WMU just didn't get the job done last night. Period.

Undefeated means nothing without quality wins. See how far a WMU schedule would get them in consideration of the NCAA tournament.

RE: How to end the Navy/WMU argument
It seems to me this is more of a debate about how far above the g5 label has the AAC risen more so than it is anything personal against WMU. Is the AAC literally becoming a tweener conference right before our eyes? Well we will find our if Navy wins out and does or doesn't pass a decent WMU team from a garbage conference, that would signal that there really isn't much difference between the G5ers in the power structures eyes and that I think is what a lot of other g5 fans want to believe, or the AAC gets the slot which means that our assertion that we separating from the g5 is a valid argument. If it were just about one game one year with no future ramifications then gosh gee Willagers give the little guy with the overrated gaudy record the chance, but for a two loss AAC team to get the slot over them is a game changer perception wise for us . I think we're at a crossroads.

I really don't understand why espn didn't work out a deal for the left out team to play Boise in the Las Vegas Bowl or to fill the pac12 Cactus bowl slot against the big12. The Pac is leaving both bowls in a pinch. Screw N. Texas at 5-7 send them to the Arizona bowl.
