Question for App State Fans about next year's football team
I looked at App's schedule
09/02 - at Georgia
09/09 - Savannah State
09/23 - Wake Forest
10/28 - at UMass
It appeared you all are returning a bunch next year, is that correct? If you could beat UGA, I think 13-0 or 12-1 would not be out of the question. I do believe the SBC is planning to play a CCG next season, if that correct?
I really would love NCSU and App to work out a deal in the future. I would love to see something like 2 at NCSU, 1 at App and 1 at Charlotte.

No CCG next year, starts 2018. More in-state OOC games would be great, IMO. For now, as far as future games are concerned, I think most fans are focused on whoever our bowl game is against. Cheers.

RE: Question for App State Fans about next year's football team
App loses 4 DL of the 8 we like to rotate, 2 starting LBs, a S, a CB, two OL, a WR, P, and our all-time rusher at RB.
The biggest area of concern will be DT depth, LB leadership, and a second RB to carry the load.

We'll be able to replace our corner with All Conference Latrell Gibbs, who will presumably be back next year after being ineligible this year. Upshaw will be coming back after being ineligible this year at RB as well, and we still have Evans. When Law was out, his replacement filled in nicely, can't remember the name though. Replacing the lineman will be tough for sure though, though we've done well filling in those spots the last couple years.

Or Troy or South Alabama.
13-0 is still realllllly a lot to ask. Georgia would be about a 21 point favorite, if for no other reason than the fact they're a big bad SEC team with all benefit of the doubt at the beginning of the season.

Darrynton Evans will be fine as will Boyd and whoever else's they want to plug in. Boggs is still there as are the back ups to Law, Stringer, Duck and Gibbs will be better than Williams.
Defensive line is the only real concern.

Georgia would be a 10 point favorite right now. On a neautral field it would probably be less than that.

Yes, the OOC schedule and an incredible break in conference scheduling means App has a huge chance to put up an 11 win type year next year.
Still, they have to replace a fair bit of talent, and there will be some SBC opponents that should be able to give them hell.

RE: Question for App State Fans about next year's football team
There's been a lot of good things heard about the redshirting freshman. It's debatable that if Gibbs and Upshaw were eligible, Duck and Evans probably would have redshirted this year. They were the only true freshman who played this season.
Good news is that Tee Sims was declared a junior part-way through the season and will return in 2017.
One player to look out for on the D-Line in 2017 is John Baer Hunter.
ILB is a bit thin. Gonna need Flory, Townes and Teh'Ron Fuller to step up big next year to help out Boggs.

Lead up to Georgia game will still include Michigan references but at a significantly less number than years past. Huge uptick in references however about App at Tennessee since they seem to blame thier whole season on basically "losing" to App at home to start thier inevitable Championship run. UT fans words, not mine.

This. 14 of our starters were recruited as FCS talent. We have been redshirting and building up and those FBS guys and they will start to emerge in 2017 and 2018. Like what we are doing in Boone.

Tennessee started to spiral with their loss to Texas A&M. They couldn't get out of their own way in those SEC games that they lost. At any rate, I wouldn't be surprised if next seasons game is also on a Thursday just because of last years result and the amount of publicity surrounding the game. Georgia may be the media's "Who is going to unseat Alabama but it won't actually happen" team of the year.

And what are the "top ones"? Certainly not the one played in front of a 3/4 empty stadium last week.

When it involves tie breaking, you pull against the person you are in a tie with. In the spirit of the mantra of SS, "nameless, faceless opponents". In the fan aspect, whoever is playing Troy needs to win. Happened to be Southern to cap off a 5-7 season.(that is enough to laugh about)
