South Alabama BOT Approves Indoor Football Practice Facility
Today the USA Board of Trustees approved the construction of a covered football practice facility. The construction will begin in January and be completed sometime next fall according to reports.

I think that looks very good. I assume the weather his mild enough that you don't need a full structure. I don't think stAte or other teams further north have that luxury.

It did say that it was designed to be fully enclosed in the future.

I'm no recruiting expert but I've been told App's has made a world of difference in helping us be ready at this level. Also, it's very practical. Football used to share cramped space with 4 or 5 other teams during inclement weather. David Jackson talked about it on this week's Black and Gold podcast.

Congrats.

In the al.com article it states the facility will eventually be completely closed in. Can wait for them to practice in it,

The weather will be fine, these facilities are there to protect players from the elements rain, hail, snow, and lightning. This will do the job fine in Alabama, and would do it just as well in Michigan so I suspect would be just fine for A-ST.

Wondering if it would be next to the new proposed stadium. Where do the Jags practice, it that near the new proposed stadium?

The big news here is that this is a SBC school again improving themselves.

Congrats Jags, this will bear fruit.

The last picture in the article shows the IPF location, which is just east of the current practice fields (Turf and Natural). Just east of the IPF is where the new stadium will be located.

Yes, it will be very close to where the stadium is to be constructed and close to the football fieldhouse and the existing practice fields.

Very nice, Jags. I'm glad we can inspire schools to upgrade facilities more economically. Not everyone needs a full indoor facility from day 1.

Ha... thanks bro, I'm sure your IPF didn't hurt USA's IPF goal in the least. However; our IPF was *unofficially* being planned behind the scenes since before #FireRayWatts pulled the plug on your football program. We just couldn't talk about it till now ;-)

Our good pal HemiMan doesn't seem too impressed with our facility on twitter. As usual, he's obsessed with us on there.
