I agree completely. And am still a little bitter than DD left before the orange bowl. Biggest game in NIU history and we have Carey managing his first game.

PJ to Oregon seems like a good fit. They have a unique program with a big donor that could work well together. PJ will not go to Purdue (bottom half of B1G) unless it's a last grab.

I hope he doesn't go to Purdue. I really think he could do much better. Unless he wants to stay to in the Midwest that is the only reason why I'd see him going to Purdue.

He goes to Purdue because the other jobs are too big for someone who has accomplished nothing

Still needs to seal the deal and win the MAC Championship. 12-0 don't mean a thing without the Ring.

Indoors...MAC East opponent...this won't be rated G, Broncos in a massacre by 45

What happens to that locker room if Fleck pulls a Doeren and leaves just before the Cotton Bowl? "Sorry kids, you keep rowing. But I just got myself a new outboard motor." Motor boats off into the sunset.....

I do not see him pulling a Doreen. If he leaves, it will be after WMU's bowl, not before or during it.

If PJ gets an offer right after the MACC, he'll be gone. His new school won't be willing to wait. They'll want him in place for recruiting. Signing Day is not far away. Just the way the game is played!

He wont have a choice, the school will require him to leave right after the MACC.

Anazing that these guys would give up coaching in a New Years 6 bowl. I understand $ talks, but as mentioned earlier in this thread I wonder if Doeren didn't make a mistake by taking the NC State job when he presumably could have gotten a better job by waiting one more year with Lynch.

Yup, especially if they get in the Cotton Bowl. No way the school hiring him would let him start in January since that would basically destroy their recruiting class. That would hurt PJ as well if his first class is a complete disaster

Um, we're talking about P.J. Fleck here. He creates his own choices. If he wants to coach in the bowl game, his new team will bow down and kiss his arse with their blessings just like everyone else. You guys need to remember who you're talking about and the power he wields.

Football Scoop reporting multiple schools wanting to talk to PJ.

PJ's Reps say no conversations until after MACC. If that's true, I'll give him props for that over Kill & his guys who knew they were gone as they "prepared" for the MACC vs Miami....

Just what schools are interested. FAU, San Jose St, Nevada. Houston will hire a Texas guy. I think Purdue will go big with Les Miles. Oregon may open but PJ will not be the guy there. Given the limited jobs, PJ would enhance his rep if he came out and said he will be back at WMU next season.

If PJ is smart he takes the first P5 Job that offers him. No reason to sit at WMU, especially with the group of guys leaving this off season. You sell when the stock is its highest, and it won't get any higher than it will this year. Going back to WMU won't get his stock any higher, but it certainly could hurt it.

NIU fans never want to believe that. Coach Kill and Doeran had to go to the new school. The school hiring gives a rats ass about the school they are hiring the coach from. If PJ wins Friday and gets an offer from I am not sure where, WMU is in the rear view mirror.

Hmmm, I wonder what Purdue is waiting for since they fired their coach a month ago???? PJ will be gone this weekend.

Next year we'll have to groom a new QB, replace our top 3 WRs. No Adams or Moton. And a tougher OOC schedule.

Don't want to see him go, but Fleck's got to strike while the iron is hot. Just hoping it's true that he'll wait until after the MACC.
