RE: MBB: We have no manhood.
You think the left-over players are giving less than 100% for the new coach ? Are they tried-and-true "Harper" guys ?

Is current coach more favorable to his own players ?

There's only 3 Harper leftovers. Would've been 5 but 2 bigs were kicked to the curb. I heard similar to Guns that the 3 guards that got in trouble with the school committee could've been reinstated but Stans wanted his own.

I also agree with Guns that those 3 played with more heart than our new 3 play with. But again it's very early in the season. Last year we had a GT and it took him about half a season to come around. Once he did we played much better.

I 100% agree with Guns that this team is JJ's. Someone needs to jerk a knot in someone's tail really soon or this could get away from the team. I have no reason to believe the 3 grads are bad, selfish, etc. kids. They do, however, need to start playing with a little enthusiasm and togetherness.

RE: MBB: We have no manhood.
I want to make one thing clear...I think all 3 of the GTs are good kids and the kind of kid that you would want to see grow for 4 years. I don't know why this team is refusing to play all out on defense or as selfish as they are on offense. As Beed said, it's still early and last years team gave off a feeling of doom at this time. There's a huge difference...

most of their mistakes were learning to play team defense not effort

I honestly don't know what to think about coach Stansbury. This is not a throw away year as some of our fans want to make out as. I don't for a second believe it is to the players or coaches. I mean you do not schedule the way he did if you don't expect your team to at least be competitive.

I will say something I've said 100 times ...schedule to your talent level. It does not do anyone any good to go out and get their heads beat in game after game. Confidence is a HUGE part of basketball. So one of two things happened.

1. coach cannot spot the talent on his team
2. players just not doing what they show in practice on game night

or a third one...Stansbury is not a teacher. I guess it could be a little of all three.

I have every game Stansbury coaches in his 14 seasons and when you have them in a spreadsheet and can break them down by RPI or home or road or by conference....

its shocking at the lack of top 50 wins he has compared to his recruiting classes
These are totals ...most wins are in conference. Stanz has a total of 9 top 50 wins OOC and off the top of my head I believe 7 at home

6-23 vs top 10
10-28 vs 11-25
34-39 vs 26-50

He's great at beating teams with a RPI of 150+ 123-13 and really good vs teams in the 1001-149 range 55-17

BTW I did a quick search last night of 5star recruits over the past 4 years that were 6'9 or over...most averaged under 14 ppg and most of those in the 10ppg range

Lets hope this is just the case of a team not knowing each other and they get it turned around. If not I'm being serious when I say Western might miss the CUSA Tourney

I think it's just a case of too many new players at once.

Did not realize that you just had 3 returners.

Fab Five was the rare exception 04-cheers
