Can Confirm Tuberville will be let go
Mike Bohn was downtown today meeting with a big donor who cancelled his Club Seats - as part of the plee to get him back on board he told him that the Tuberville situation would be taken care of and a new coach will be brought in.

Betting it happens December 8th. Bohn can't risk losing donors with Fifth Third on the horizon, Nippert is funded based on expectations of "future revenues" from the additional seats so they can't have people leaving.

Let the speculation begin on who is next. My bet is he goes after Fleck first to get the Home Run hire but will settle for Brohm. Offensive minded and will bring energy back to Nippert. Neal Brown is untested and can't risk a coordinator at this point with so much on the line.

Big donors have suites - not Club Seats. I made a huge mistake committing to the Club Seats - with the costs being both the seats and over night travel costs. I am very glad the season is over.

As others have pointed out, there was no end of season 'atta boy comments from Bohn saying Tubs is our coach and has his full support. That alone should be telling given all the enmity that developed as this miserable season played out.

Bearcat fans will be glad to close the books on 2016 for any number of reasons. Looking forward to a new head coach with some passion and energy would be a good start on a better '17.

You might be correct. I sit in the cheap seats so not familiar with the naming of each of the sections. This is just a guy who has given a lot to UC ($5m+) and signed up for one of the seats with the food/outdoor area enclosed in glass - whatever you call them Suite/Boxes etc. Meeting was at the Scripps Center downtown. Can confirm because I know the person who had the next meeting with that same guy and they talked about what Bohn said. Can take it or leave it - just wanted to share since it is a topic of interest for passionate fans. Not just spreading fabricated gossip.

The AD telling folks outside his inner circle that he's canning TT before he meets with TT? Hmmmm. Hard to believe that one. The only thing that can be confirmed is the head coach is still the head coach until an announcement comes from Bohn and/or the university. FWIW, Oregon's head coach was just let go after a 4-8 season and after 4 years at the helm. Sound familiar?

RE: Can Confirm Tuberville will be let go
Our group has 9 total season tickets. We bought 2 club seats we rotate amongst our group. Despite the horrible results the last 2 seasons I'm glad we did it. If I could afford more I'd be in, the program is bigger than the bad (Currey, Minter, TT) and the good.

No matter what happens this will be true. My fear is the following conversation:

"Tuberville situation would be taken care of" = very strong talking to by Bohn. Please try harder coach...

"a new coach will be brought in" = yet another new OC, perhaps we'll go single wing next season.

Sounds like a suite.

Is that really that hard to believe? Bohn answers to not only the president of the university but major donors and especially those that freely write 6- and 7-figure checks, which it sounds like this guy does. I wouldn't be surprised if he kept those types of donors in the loop about the happenings of the athletic department that only a privileged few have access to. And that kind of cash can buy a lot of access.

Great point. Most of those people have achieved success by knowing how to keep their mouths shut regarding privileged information too. What was disclosed was still ambiguous and I'm sure that was the intent.

RE: Can Confirm Tuberville will be let go
It solidified it for me when Bohn declined to comment on Tubs when asked by Groeschen. Declining to comment puts the writing on the wall. If he were staying Bohn would've said Tommy is our coach and will be our coach next year. He's gone, just biding time until the buyout drops.

It could be that Bohn already informed Tuberville of his intent to relieve him of his head coaching duties on 12/7/16 but he should continue on in the meantime. They were supposed to meet shortly after the Tulsa game. Maybe Bohn is doing him a solid and letting him vacate the program in the meantime so he isn't subjected to a media firestorm.

I'm no lawyer - but if he did that then would UC still legally owe the bigger buyout? I know that's applicable in some situations but not sure in this one.

Highly, highly unlikely. Not with that buyout date.
