NIU Alum Terry Boers to retire in January
NIU Alum and long-time Score host Terry Boers announced his retirement today on the B&B Show. Boers, who has been battling a serious illness and has been absent for several months this year, was extremely emotional as he made his announcement. January 5th will be his last day. Boers hopes to work as much as possible between now and then, but said he doesn't know how much he'll be able to do.

Very tough to listen to; my take on it is that the end is not far away for Terry. Thanks for the memories Terry!

I can understand many for not liking this show with how those two disrespect, mock, and humiliate people. Very vicious individuals when it comes to treating people with respect and dignity. Have to admire anyone for doing something as long as they have though, and it was tough to listen to him tonight, I caught it driving home. Their show was highly successful and they deserve a tip of the hat, and it is sad to see the show break up. I hope Terry will be ok.

I always thought Boers was ok. Berstein is usually a jerk.

Id have to agree with that. Bernstein is just a vile human being, seriously vile. When he is not working with Boers his disgusting nature is exposed even more. A bitter bitter man

Off topic a bit....I know they've been to Fattys a few times.
I'm not familiar with Hometown. Is it new? Used to be something else...?

You do know that is Dan's part of the bit right? I really doubt that he is a vile human being as much as an entertainer playing a part. Stupid people call the show and suggest dumb things and he makes fun of them. If you don't like it why do you listen?

It's his schtick. Being a jerk. It's like He watched the movie "Talk Radio" and tried to pattern his radio personality after Eric Bogosian's character. The thing is he presses too hard to do it. Most noticeably when he misunderstands a callers point and goes right into the south sider moron condescension. It's schtick because when he hosts alone he has a totally different demeanor.

Exactly. That's their thing. It's infuriating and compelling at the same time. There's a reason the B&B show has been on the air longer than any Chicago sports talk show - it's called ratings.

I will give the boys credit for being unrelenting on stupid and sometimes criminal behavior of sports figures. Examples are spousal abuse by athletes, the ongoing Penn State scandal and the anti-vaxxer wackiness of Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavalleri. Other sports shows either ignore or give lip service to these issues.

Its not a bit, if you ever get the opportunity to listen to Bernstein do a show alone you will hear his true colors. The man is a disgusting hateful human being.

Agreed! When they do the Fatty's show around Homecoming time you'll see their true colors on both of them.

Your criticisms of people and institutions are really over the top.

There are plenty of people that call in that deserve their ridicule. The calls where people are trolling should be shot down. There are plenty of good natured people who call in with honest questions who are treated so disrespectfully. I think with Bernstein it's the classic bullied who turns into a bully syndrome. You can tell he was given a hard time at some point over the years and it has made him a bitter vengeful toxic individual
