Paying college athletes (who benefits)
If they allowed college athletes to be paid, who stands to benefit the most? I belive this wIll be the end of all non P5 programs existing as we know it. The OSU's and Alabama's will be that much more dominant.

RE: Paying college athletes (who benefits)
I think there is another side to this that isn't mentioned.

Say UC is in the G5 and, conference affiliation be damned, they want to pay their players, too. Our administration has made comments to that effect in the past - that UC strives to compete at the highest levels and will make the necessary investments to do so.

If UC is willing to pay their players but aren't included in one of the P5 conferences, what will the NCAA tell UC if they are shut out for this reason? I think it's a dilemma that the NCAA doesn't really want to get into. It also opens Pandora's box with student work compensation. Suddenly, the student-athletes will have to claim their income on their taxes.

It's a lawsuit waiting to happen, and a playground for legislators. I just don't think this is a line the NCAA or universities necessarily want to cross if they don't have to.
