It would be interesting to know what drove the structure of this years offense. Was it the graduation of the wideouts while returning two really good RBs?

In the spring the concept of a run oriented offense made sense to me. At the Spring Game I thought the offense was very weak and was hopeful that it was because of an improved D.

So much comes down to the O line. The Browns are a complete wreck because the O line is so bad. In retrospect it appears to me that our O line was also a complete wreck as evidenced by our impotence in short yardage situations - which cost us the Tulsa game.

Going back to the Orange Bowl we have not been able to gain short yardage first downs. Why do we not go under center for those plays?

Or put more than one back in the backfield. No chance for misdirection, the keys are very easy. idk.

We couldn't convert on 4th and 1 on numerous occasions, even when running behind supposedly our best offensive lineman, Deshawn Bond.

Versus Tulsa we could not convert on 2nd an 1.

You know, these things die naturally if you don't bump them up. (we're six minutes apart, so mine doesn't count)

Hopefully next coach is willing to keep some combination of Prunty, Rolan, and Koonz on staff, big parts of recent recruiting classes

I'd like to keep Rolan, if possible. He has been the best recruiter the past couple of two seasons. He was the guy who first identified Mike Boone a few years ago and several good young ones in the last class: Rollins, Geddis and Mbodj.

I thought our recruiting based on the numbers was not all that great compared to the other American teams?

Yup. Thought we only had like 8-9 commits.

RE: Hypothetical: Tuberville Returns
Recruiting has been funky under this bunch.

Rolen never coached anywhere before he got hired away from UT as a grad assistant. Frankly, our WRs did not strike me as a particularly well coached up group either (the ones we recruited that Tubby said were small and not fast enough).

Didn't Rolan also bring in Doaks. He was one of are best recruits last year by the numbers. He just had to redshirt this year.

RE: Hypothetical: Tuberville Returns
This all depends on whom you hire as coach. As we've seen in past changes, there has been some controversy if a new guys wants to rerecruit an existing guy, etc. You want what's best for all parties depending on what they bring and whom has indicated they are going to sign. To early to speculate.
