Looks like we've made some remarkable strides in revenue from premium seating in both football and basketball. As well as corporate sponsorship. He said to be on the look out for a "state of NIU football" Q&A coming soon.

Let's hope the remarkable strides in revenue can be continued or sustained after this down season.

if you are a fan and an alum you will be back at it next season no matter what happened this year.

Very true. Despite RC and STF being clowns its fun, relatively cheap entertainment.

For me, the game is the only reason I'm there. I don't tailgate or drink before, during, or after the game. I take the game very seriously. When the team plays embarrassingly bad and the coaches make bonehead calls and spend much of their time screaming at players, I do not consider that fun. I don't have fun watching the game and usually leave pissed off. Not sure there are many who get so upset like I do, but I'm sure there are those who wouldn't get frantic if a bomb exploded next to them. It takes all kinds to make the world go around, I guess. This season has been torturous for me and I'm very happy it's finally over. I think I need to find a new form of "entertainment".

Seems like an odd phrase to use....

Could be me...

Just meant that from what I have been told I am expecting to hear some kind of announcement around that time.

Not you...Why he chose to say: " the state of NIU football"...?

Because its a play on "state of the Union" or "state of the state" which is typically given at the beginning of the year.

If our season had been any better I am sure the wording would have been exactly the same.

It's nice that we have made strides, however it only looks remarkable with the percentage "wordsmithing" that is done. We are all the way up to $62K for basketball. Would that cover AN assistant's salary???

We are talking about Division I athletics and there WAS talk of a master facilities plan. Not going to get that done with revenue streams like this, take away the astronomical percentage jumps.

We have some very nice people that support the program (Barsema, Yordon, Chessick---I don't mean to shortchange anyone, I'm just not close to the program and only know a few names) that have been instrumental in helping us get to even this level.

I don't get to many basketball games---are any of these individuals (if you know) in the Nelson Suite or courtside? That seems to be where most of that revenue is coming from.

Ken chessick has courtside seats. He's there at most games. I've seen him in the Nelson suite also.

The Chessick family and Yordon family can sit wherever they'd like and go wherever they like. I believe they also travel with the team whenever they can make it. They are also on the field with the team or in the Skybox - their choice.

How many times does this have to be repeated?...NONE of the Master Plan is going to come from Athletics income. Its will come from 100% private funding/donations.

See how well people on here pay attention to details? Creates some really dumb and really frustrating moments...
