On a positive note, the players earned this trip and will have a blast. Much better "vacation" than new Mexico or Annapolis.

Played on ESPN at 1 PM on the 23rd.

Fair enough. It is a bowl game and they worked their butts off for it, but I'm sure they would love it even more to have some sort of fan presence to play for. Going to the Bahamas once is one thing but twice in a month would be tough for even the most die-hard fan. Monarch Nation has a great travelling fan base and I'm sure we will have people there, but selfishly as a fan I would love it to be somewhere more accessible for us

Last year, MTSU accepted on Nov. 28th. Western Michigan wasn't announced until December 1. It might be a few days until we hear who the opponent will be.

Granted, me too. Just point out the players seem happy. Many have probably never been to a resort like this.

I think teams typically spend a week at the site (maybe more/less?) Can you imagine being 19 and have the options of spending a week at a luxury resort in warm weather or spending a week in Annapolis? Im sure they would love the support, but the beach has its benefits.

I get that ODU won't have a lot of fans there, but I can't imagine that the players will be too upset over a trip to the Bahamas.

And how many of their family members could come? Or does ODU fly family out?

Location sucks for the fans, but I'm sure the football team will enjoy it. Really hope CUSA manages to get a mainland east coast bowl game closer to us soon - maybe Charleston, SC?
