I think Wikipedia gets a bad rap and a worse reputation than it deserves but this is clearly the case of someone posting some unsubstantiated crap.

I don't understand why people get so up in arms over this stuff. This isn't like football where a committee controls how high you can get in the playoff poll. Yes, there is something similar in basketball but it's not the equivalent. You have a chance to control your own fate and make Final Fours, NCAA Tournaments and win titles. Sure, the majors stack the odds in their favor via OOC scheduling but you still have a chance.

Who cares if some schools are considered a power this or power that. It's not anything worth losing any sleep over, you can still win the NCAA Tournament.

In the few years since the NBE and American have been in existence, both have won men's basketball national championships. We have also had the same number of teams make the NCAA's. We are essentially equals.
