Lipscome...Kyle Washington
I don't think it's too soon to proclaim this. But Kyle Washington is the best UC player since Kenyan Martin. Except for KMart's domination of the defense. KWash is currently the best shooter on the team. Maybe his inside presence will further develop over the next year or two.

So much of a better shooter though, he may be our best since Steve Logan. So smooth. So quick. So pure. From the whole court! He looks like a budding first team AA to me.

We're looking at two future NBArs with Evans and KW. Evans reminds me of Butler from Marquette

Turned his foot and ankle right over. Hope for the best but it did not look good.

I agree. It was amazing to watch UC struggle scoring close to the basket last season. Like Kenyon, Kyle has that quick, sure delivery to the hoop down low. He and Evans make this team considerably better offensively than any we've seen in recent memory.

Kyle's not even the best player on the team. We've got a 6'6 2 guard who's shooting 60% from the field, handles the ball like a point guard, and unlike Kyle plays both ends of the court.

I'll give you Kyle being the best offensive big guy we've had since Kenyon.

Yes, unfortunately it must still be 2016; the year for all UC sports calamities.

Well, I wouldn't trade either of them. 04-cheers

Good comparison. Very similar physiques and similar games.

and I said Washington would have a big year after seeing him in the first scrimmage at homecoming. Don't get me wrong...I think he's good.

I'm not basing it on just this game. It's all the games. And how well he plays.

Yeah, agreed. He did it against RI too (aside from the close of the game where he took a lot of bad shots).

Yeah I would imagine there are some really annoyed NC State fans. That guy is fun to watch. If he can control his fouling UC could do some damage this year.

Re-ranking the potential impact transfers this season

2. Kyle Washington, PF, Jr., Cincinnati

Averages (through four games): 17.0 points, 9.5 rebounds
Averages in two seasons at NC State: 5.8 points, 4.0 rebounds

When Washington, a former top-100 recruit out of Minnesota, decided to leave NC State—where he was only an occasional starter—following its Sweet 16 season of 2014–15, he had plenty of options. It was promising that he chose a program that figured to address his weaknesses as much (or more) than it would highlight his strengths. On Washington’s transfer-recruiting visit to Cincinnati, coach Mick Cronin told him, “I know what you can do”—running through Synergy Sports clips he liked of Washington’s offensive skills, both in the post and attacking bigs off the bounce from the perimeter—before telling Washington that he had serious work to do in the areas of defensive awareness, making winning plays, as opposed to merely hunting buckets.

When Washington returned home to Minnesota after the visit, he told his father, “I want to go to Cincinnati, but I also think I have to go to Cincinnati, because they can give me what I need to become a complete player.” Washington acknowledges that his defense was lacking at NC State, but he also had a different view of what his ceiling was—Washington believing that he could carve out a full-time, high-minute, starting gig—than did coach Mark Gottfried. “I believed that I had to make a change,” Washington says, “to save my career.”

At Cincinnati, Washington has carved out the role he envisioned—he starts at power forward, averages 29.0 minutes per game, takes a team-high 29.7% of the Bearcats’ shots, and grabs a team-high 29.8% of available defensive boards. Washington still has plenty of room for defensive improvement, but he’s making big contributions on the glass, and he’s giving Cincy an offensive dimension that it’s lacked in its recent frontcourts, by showing the dual ability to score in the post and stretch the floor. He’s been a big reason why the Bearcats—and not UConn or SMU—look like the AAC’s best team thus far.

I think Sean Kilpatrick might have something to say about this.

If Washington is still averaging 17 & 9 come March I'll start to agree with you.

Agreed...I pray he continue to shoot at such a great clip. So far when he gets the ball inside 6 feet it's going in the basket every time.

I said it may be a bit soon, but wow he looks smooth out there. When one has watched as many Cincy games as I have, you sometimes just get a sense about a player. Maybe I'll be wrong, I just don't think so.

You need NBA talent to advance in the Tourney. For the first time since KMart, I think we have more than one.
