RE: ESPN: Longhorns to hire Tom Herman as new coach
Yeah that is probably the least surprising news in college football that we'll get all year.

He would've been announced for LSU already, if he didn't know that Texas was going to be open.

Have to wonder, with how bad they lost to TCU, if some of the underclassmen who weren't loyal to Strong were "encouraged" to not have their best game yesterday ...

RE: ESPN: Longhorns to hire Tom Herman as new coach
Do we trust anything ESPN report on anything to do with the Big 12? They reported that the Big 12 will expand by 2, and they said they eliminated schools from the list and so forth when there were no official reports until the Big 12 made an announcement that they will not expand. I am seeing Houston going to either the ACC or the PAC 12 before Herman will leave Houston.

Other media outlets reporting this too. This deal was not done in a day. UT "agents" have been talking to Herman's agent for weeks if not months.

Right.

And just so conveniently, Texas wasn't even competitive in the last game of the year.

Would've been harder to let Strong go if Texas had won, especially in convincing fashion.

Looks like Herman chose wisely waiting on Texas for one year. See a lot of Houston recruits flipping to UT.

Texas, Baylor and some other schools are hot mess to even take a job as a head coach there. If I was Tom Herman. I would have told the officials at Texas to take that job and shove it up there you know where the sun don't shine. How long before They run Herman off from Texas?

Hey, You guys have it all wrong. I heard with my own ears just yesterday where Tom Herman said that all those rumors about him leaving Houston are not true. Coaches would never lie about these sorts of things. I even have a video liked below where Herman flat out denied those rumors of him leaving Houston:

Tom Herman denies rumors

Coaches NEVER lie about these things. So my advice to you guys is to stop being so gullible!

The problem is why going after coaches from G5 schools? We have seen them failed most of the time trying to coach a P5 school like Dan Hawkins from Boise State to Colorado.

I don't consider Houston as a G5. Just a P5 school stuck in a G5 conference.

Houston Players Blast Coach on Twitter For Ditching Team

The college football world got some big news from a couple powerhouses on gameday, including Ed Orgeron somehow staying at LSU, and his counterpart in speculation, Tom Herman, leaving Houston for Texas.

A lot of analysts and fans saw this move coming, as numerous reports surfaced that Herman was interested in the position.

However, there was one group of people who didn't see it coming: his players at Houston. They took to Twitter to voice their confusion, and displeasure, about their coach, and it seems they have every right to do so.

That's really messed up if true, and also how you completely lose control of your locker room heading into the bowl season.

The anger continued.

Similar to all politicians and TV preachers, I just figure that all coaches lie for money. Life is simpler that way.

Hearing that Tom Herman invited Mack Brown to his press conference today. Mack will be there in support of his former GA.

Herman isn't lying, his agent did the negotiating.

Nah. His brother will be at UH next year. Once that year is done, Oliver will only have one more year before he can jump to the NFL. He wont leave. The guy who I would be concerned about leaving is Kyle Allen. He could graduate this spring and be eligible to transfer with no restrictions. His future likely depends on who we hire.

As for Herman, I think he will be wildly successful at Texas. His offense works. He did a good job at Houston where he didn't really have the pieces to run his real offense. He was basically improvising something that was effective with the pieces he had to work with. At Texas, he's got Ohio State type 4 and 5 star players. Texas will be a force next year.
