AAC v. MAC
I think 6 teams from the AAC would have gone undefeated in the MAC (USF, Houston, Navy, Memphis, Tulsa and Temple). There is simply no comparison on the facilities, players and level of play. night and day difference. We need to move and pronto otherwise are next one will be back to Independent or 1-AA

Toledo beat a better Temple team last season in a bowl. Houston losses to crummy teams like SMU. And Tulsa is not that good. I could see USF and Navy maybe.

RE: AAC v. MAC
There is no comparison. AAC is a tougher, richer conference. The only conference the MAC is similar to is the sun belt. Playing games on Tuesday and Wednesday in front of empty stadiums sent the MAC into a spiral.

AAC v. MAC
The phones at NIU are ringing off the hook with calls from the AAC begging us to join. I think STF is holding out for that call from the Big 12. We are really in demand after our stellar season!

I see us dropping more than moving up.
The next wave is coming and a lot of the MAC will be out in the cold.

Yes that's my fear! If we drop down to 1-AA I'm not sure I'll keep my tickets or donation level either.

RE: AAC v. MAC
Everyone here already knows the AAC is better. This thread is like reverse trolling. We all know that one poster is going to come in here and talk about how the MAC stacks up to the AAC, and then it's going to lead to a several page "argument" that goes nowhere.

This is old road, is it better, maybe just slightly slightly, and you need a microscope to see it. Best team in G5 is in the MAC though, so yeah it is what it is

Houston beat two, not one, but two top 5 teams this year.

But wait, yesterday you said this, referring to the WMU/Toledo game:

Navy will likely be playing a ranked South Florida team in the champ game, unless Temple wins against ECU. They win and it will be close, wouldn't be surprised at all if Navy gets it.

Likely? Temple is a 21.5 pt favorite, playing at home.

Realized that temple had the tie breaker after saying that.

I thought they would find some way to steal it from WMU. But with the AAC sucking it up bad and Boise going down, I don't even know how the crooks can take it from them

And if you lose three games in the last half of the same season, then you're more Jekyll & Hyde than anything.
I think people fail to realize how difficult - and rare - it is to run the table. In any conference. You can be "favored" in every game, but to out-perform your opponent for 12 consecutive games is a feat. We're the first G5 to do this in 6 years.

Not impressed by WMU in the least. Not a single quality win.

Jesus. Stop it. They're a damn good team. Yes, they don't have a marquee win cause the MAC sucks and they played mediocre B1G teams, but they're impressive.
