Time to think about Bowl Opportunities
I searched the Internet and here are some Memphis bowl predictions

CBS Sports has us in Boca Raton on Dec 20 playing Southern Miss

ESPN has us also in Boca Raton but playing Louisiana Tech
or in The Bahamas on Dec 23 playing Western Kentucky

COLLEGE FOOTBALL NEWS has us playing South Carolina in Birmingham on Dec 29 at the Birmingham Bowl

Birmingham would give us an SEC match up and also a bowl game close to Memphis that is not on a holiday. As far as destination....Boca Raton would be nice from a pure weather standpoint but we would be playing a C USA team. Again, getting the chance to beat an SEC team has more appeal to me. Plus Birmingham Bowl would be a sell out and probably get higher TV ratings and thus more exposure.

It would be nice for the players to get to go to the Bahamas.

I would imagine our bowl situation improved following the win over Houston.

I went ahead and booked a roundtrip special fare to Ft. Lauderdale on Southwest for $130. Down the morning of the game and fly back the following afternoon.

Hard to tell but there will still be 4 or 5 AAC teams with better overall records than Memphis when the regular season is over.

That is a pretty good price. Since that is around Christmas time, it would make sense to book a flight now before the rates go way up. I think my wife was checking Southwest flights from Dallas to Tampa and Orlando a few days ago for late December and they were about double that rate.

Can't the bowls choose the teams they want? And I bet the conference has hand in the matchups they prefer.
